This is a low cost lens and it has similar quality to cost. You NEED a tripod to use this lens if you want sharp results. If you wanted an 800mm lens like this from Canon, it would cost around $12,000. It's not perfect, but it absolutely is worth the money paid if you know how to use it. Again, USE A TRIPOD.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best lens out there

I was slightly disappointed, looked a little different and the zoom function isn’t that smooth.
The picture quality is not bad though. But definitely get a good tripod if you want your pictures to turn out good, I used a cheap $20 tripod and it was very wobbly and the pictures were blurry. But I think it’s worth it for the price.

Very difficult to operate. So shaky on a tripod I couldn't take a decent picture. You really need to Know what you are doing. Not for a beginner looking to take nice pictures. I have a nikon cool pix camera that takes alot closer pictures.

This lens reaches out pretty far. But the longer reach..the more visible the motion blur. M only. Landscapes are ok with lots of light with this. Lower light will not result in quality sharp photos. That said, if you print medium wall size you won't be pixel peeping anyway. All about personal preference.

I am editing this review. The issue with shake isn't the lens it's the stability. I have a good tripod, but when you attach the t-ring to it, all there is, is a screw basically to hold it still. I suggested to the company that an updated horizontal slide type mount would do wonders. After putting it on a tripod, focusing, and then holding down firmly on the camera strap so it wouldn't jiggle I got the Moon Photo I wanted! Woohoo!
