5.0 out of 5 stars Mind blowing lens for an incredible price!

As a photographer, I'm always on the lookout for gear that can enhance my craft. When I got my hands on the Tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD lens for my Fujifilm XT5, I knew I had found something special.

This lens is like a Swiss Army knife - it does it all! From capturing sweeping landscapes to zooming in on distant wildlife, it's got me covered. It's been a joy to use, whether I'm snapping action shots at a sports event, taking intimate portraits, or just capturing the beauty of everyday life.

One of the things I love about this lens is how close it lets me get to my subjects. I can get right up close and personal, capturing details that would be missed with other lenses. And even when the lighting isn't perfect, the lens's autofocus and image stabilization features ensure my shots come out sharp and clear.

Despite all these features, the lens is surprisingly compact and lightweight. It's been my go-to lens for family outings and travel - it's so easy to carry around, and I love the convenience of having one lens that can handle a wide range of shots.

While the autofocus of the Tamron 18-300mm might not be as lightning-fast as a Fuji prime lens, it's still pretty impressive. It's responsive and accurate, ensuring that I don't miss those fleeting moments. Whether I'm capturing a bird in flight or a player's winning goal, this lens has consistently delivered sharp, clear images. It's a testament to Tamron's commitment to quality and performance.

Now, I have to be honest - I did miss the aperture ring that comes with the original Fujifilm lenses. But honestly, it's a small trade-off for the versatility and performance this Tamron lens offers. Plus, considering the price point, the Tamron 18-300mm comes in at less than what a similar Fujifilm lens would cost. So, you're getting an incredible range of capabilities without breaking the bank.

I've included some photos I've taken with the lens so you can see for yourself just how great it is. From the sharpness of the images to the beautiful blurred backgrounds, I've been thrilled with the results.

In conclusion, if you're a Fujifilm X-Mount user like me, I can't recommend enough the Tamron 18-300mm lens. It's been a game-changer for me, and I'm sure it will be for you too!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good lens....

I can imagine a lot of users where this lens would be exactly what they were looking for. I applaud Tamron for providing a Fuji mount lens as an option to the Fuji branded lenses. I gave a 4 star not as a negative, only because 5 would have to represent the best of the best. This lens offers very good sharpness, very wide focal lengths, and good image color resolution. It is a very good lens. I think it is near the top of the value for the money options. Probably only pixel peepers might feel dissatisfied with this lens. But pixel peeping does not come without a cost, and in this regard, I think this Tamron provides a lot of satisfaction and great breadth of focal lengths at the pretty modest cost. If you will only be satisfied with the best of the best and the sharpest of the sharpest at all focal lengths, this may not be for you. But, not because it is not a great lens, only because it may not be the best of the best you are looking for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super lens that can do it all

I love this lens so far. I’m just a beginning photographer using FujiFilm XS-10 camera and this amazing lens can do it all fairly well. it’s value packed lens for what it offers. It’s not too big or heavy to be stuck on my camera all day and even though it’s made mainly of plastic material, it feels well made. This lens is perfect for beginner photographers because it shoots at 18mm-300mm, that’s a broad range of focal length to play with and then understand those lengths really well before going to buy particular prime lens. The picture quality is sharp and the color is good. Also, the minimum focus distance is few inches and seems to offer macro like capabilities. To sum this review up, I think it’s a super buy at a price of 600 dollars for a lens that can do what you would need several lenses to do. If your budget is tight and you want a lens that can cover your basis than look no further.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Lens for the Money

I have been taking photos for many years. Over the course of those years I have only been in two, primary systems. Nikon and Fujifilm (my most recent). This lens was reason enough to make the switch to Fujifilm, even without the others.

I have owned several Tamron lenses for Nikon mount so I had no hesitation in buying this for my Fujifilm X-T5. I'm getting older and the idea of looking like a wedding photographer every time I leave the house was one of my reasons for getting out of the "Gear Race" and switching to Fujifilm in the first place. Combined with this lens, though, I have really created the minimalist, do anything, take anywhere kit. With a range of 18-300, with the exception of extreme wildlife, I can shoot anything I want and never even waste time thinking about my lens choice.

This lens is sharp, as you can see in the photos and does a very clean job of acting as a macro lens. At 18mm, the focusing distance is so close you will probably hit the glass. Backing up and extending it to 300, you can create large, frame filling shots with nice bokeh in the background.

Having been passionate about photography for many years, I've read all the reasons and seen all the videos that will explain why people think a lens like this is sub-par or not professional. "Primes are sharper." "My feet act as my zoom." "They aren't sharp enough to be professional." ..... etc. However, think of it this way. How professional is it to miss a shot because you had the wrong lens on the camera or didn't bring the lense with you to begin with? Also, photography composition, unlike painting, is a process of eliminating things in the frame. What better way to fill the frame with your subject than to be able to zoom in on it and eliminate everything you don't want?

I carry a 9mm extra wide lens in my bag and I have this lens. That's it. Tamron builds great lenses, every bit as professional and reliable as any camera brand. This is the best lens I've ever owned and I highly recommend it. In fact, if they are not careful, a lot of people will discover this lens is out there and there will be no need for any others.
