5.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for, and you pay a whole lot

Zero complaints other than the high price. I don’t have a kit zoom to compare it to but the image quality is fantastic. It’s on the heavy side but it’s well built for it.

While yes some of the canon color that I know and love does come from the camera body, this lens just gets out of the way and it’s so easy to get great results without having to fiddle much with this or that in post.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!

I bought this used but I don’t think it was ever even mounted to a camera. It’s in perfect condition and is now my favorite lens. If you’re a corporate photographer and you do not have this focal length, it will make your job infinitely easier.

This is an impressive lens. It's sharp, fairly light, and the 15-35mm range is really nice. I find myself reaching for it more than I expected to. It is particularly nice for walking around downtown and capturing the architecture or for wide landscapes. The 35 end brings perspective much closer to what the eye sees and is a great focal length for group shots.

The two images show the opposite ends of the zoom range. The 35mm photo of the tulips has lens correction turned off so that the lesn' vignette is visible.

For myself, the only negative is that it is not a metal construction. Plastic is definitely lighter, but I worry about the plastic cracking when shooting in the cold Minnesota winters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny

I know is not cheap but we all know that investing on good glass is a good investment as a lens will stay with you 5-10 without problems.
During the lifetime of a lens, you will have at least two camera bodies as these will become obsolete or simply the technology advancements will make a newer body more desirable.
A lens becomes obsolete maybe after 10 years when a new generation is released so I always think in the cost of a glass like something that will be useful for that timeframe.
This one delivers pristine images and I will share some but Amazon compress images so what you see here is a mere downgraded copy of the nice image that I got from my lens.
Focus is super fast and accurate. Has a good resistance to flaring and the included hood has a lock mechanism that will prevent moving while attached.
Not much to say except get one! L series is top notch.

5.0 out of 5 stars An unbelievably sharp lens!

This is perhaps the best lens on the Canon R5 camera. I like to have the wide 15mm for landscapes, larger groups, and for full shots of buildings etc., while being able to get to a more portrait-level 35mm. I like having f/2.8, although with IBIS, there are very few situations to have to go that wide. In fact, with IBIS now, I love shooting at f/4, f/5.6 or higher. The only time I go down to f/2.8 is to get the shallow DOF and bokah. This lens is unbelievably sharp ... no question about it! If you are getting the R5 or R6, the trio of RF lenses I'd recommend are this one, the 24-70 f/4, and the 85MM prime. Oh, and not to forget - the control ring feature in the RF lenses is amazing and super useful! I use the rings for ISO ... and it's just great! Love this lens!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another exceptional piece of Canon glass

Got this lens for my Canon R5 and wow I'm blow away by the quality and speed. I've been using a crop sensor camera for about 6 years now and decided to go full frame. My first lens purchase had to be a wide angle to get those huge sweeping wide shots that my crop sensor just couldn't achieve. So far I'm loving this lens. It's super sharp from edge to edge even at 15mm. Autofocus is everything the R5 was touted to be and this lens accompanies that feature perfectly. Super fast, accurate and sharp. Also, lens stabilization on this lens is unreal. If I'm super steady I can get sharp pictures at 1/2 second exposure hand held. Definitely a worthwhile investment for years to come.
