Durable, light-weight, waterproof

I need to travel light and often thru harsh weather so I won't use anything that can't get the job done. This case keeps its contents dry and safe. It will survive a two story drop. It will survive falling off the back of a motorcycle on a highway (without other vehicles running over it). It can be submerged underwater. The carabiner is a little awkward to use (it is a tight fit thru the case's loop) but will allow you to safely attach it to your gear (unless you are carrying pure lead or gold. the carabiner is weak but a case this size won't carry much anyway).

The clear see thru case is great because you can see the contents but this is not something you want for the airport. The case will become pressurized from the flight and you will have a tough time opening the case once you land. Leave the case open and unsealed so you can use it after the flight.

The interior of the case has a rubber like polymer which creates the water/smell proof seal. This material doubles as a shock absorber. My case never cracked but if it did, I think this material could sponge up a little bit of liquid before the contents of your case get wet. The sticker (Pelican 1010) can easily be removed. A smartphone or camera will probably not fit in this case. This case has stood up to daily use for over a year. I highly recommend this case for instances when a waterproof plastic bag (like ALOKSAK) cannot get the job done. It will allow you to pack heavily and densely without worrying about the contents getting crushed.

You should always test your gear before using them in the field! Place a tissue or anything that will easily indicate the presence of water inside the case before submerging it in a bucket of water. Don't just run water from the faucet. I have personally "tested" this case ten feet under river water without any issues.

Super solid and just the right size - great for IEMs, headphones, extra tips, etc.

I initially bought a KZ case for my IEMs for church. It was just a bit too small. It took secearl minutes to get the IEMs wrapped up just the right way and maneuvered into the case just so . . . so as to not pinch any of the wires or cram the lid down on my new IEMs. This Pelican 1010 case is just the right size for me to wrap up loosly the IEMs and cable, toss them in and close it. No issues because it's a couple of inches bigger than the KZ case. Don't get me wrong, the KZ case is great and very secure, but if your IEMs are full size (like most of the KZ, Shure, CCA etc. of similar or larger sizes are), then the smallish KZ case may be too small. This one is big enough so that I can loosely wrap up my IEMs after a gig, close it, and toss them in my backpack and be gone. The smaller KZ case required several minutes of wrapping just the right size, and carefully adjusting everything before I closed the case. The Pelican 1010 is big enough - but not too big - that you can just wrap, toss, and go. I also have enough room in the Pelican 1010 to keep a couple of extra collar clips and ear tips without any of it getting in the way. When you gig regularly, for church or elsewhere, you have to have extra tips, collar clips, and cinches just in case (WHEN!) something happens at the gig. This case is just the right size. And it has the carabiner to keep it attached to my backpack for gigs. Super solid and just the right size.

I just wish I had known about the size issue before I bought the KZ case first. Maybe you can learn from my issues!

Perfect for IEMs

I was worried before ordering that it might be too small, but it’s the perfect size for my IEMs, cable, and even a small DAC. It also comes with a carabiner which is perfect for clipping to the inside of my backpack when I’m out. This case feels solid and well built giving me confidence it’ll stand up to a lot of abuse for years to come.

I carried a small camera inside this box during a ski trip to Vermont. The camera stayed 100% dry despite the outside of the box getting lots of wet and melted snow on the it. The interior dimensions are definitely what you need to watch when ordering the best size Pelican box for your needs, but Pelican boxes are the best in their class and I have never been disappointed by any Pelican product in the last 20-25 years of using them. If the box says it is waterproof, then it really is. And this one definitely is! And the weight it not heavy at all, so it is easy to stash in a large coat pocket and just carry it on hikes and put on skis like I did! Highly recommend this one!!

Very Strong Case I recommend!

I am very satisfied with my purchase even though I really wanted black but I had to be a prime customer for black. Also the case states it is red and it looks red in the pic but it is burgandy in real however, it fits my camera perfectly and it does not prohibit the lid from its functions of shutting which is an absolute PLUS!! It is very durable but it isnt fully waterproof, it is more water resistant up to a certain point BUT It does the job to protect from minor scratches and dust getting in the lens when travelling around with the camera. I own a canon G7x Mark 2. I would recommend. I will be uploading a video to my youtube channel soon of how it fits as well as a waterproof test you can check it out dependant on when you are reading this review the channel name is Ashawnya.
