    I bought this camera for my daughter but wanted to use it first to make sure it was good enough quality to give to her. I took it out to Central Park and filmed one of my regular walks. I found the video to be good quality. The camera was easy to use. I liked the zoom function and the external microphone did a good job recording music I filmed in the park.

    Set up was easy. I always turn off the beeping sounds, and set the camera and video to the best quality settings. Don't forget to format your SD card or it may not work. Mine told me there was an error but the error was on my part of not formatting the card.

    When you get the camera, you will have to install the external microphone which just screws into the hot shoe. Don't forget to plug in the jack to the camera. You also will need to turn on the mic when you are reusing your camera and then turn it off when you are done. You do not need to use the external mic. There is an internal one, but I believe the external is a little better quality.

    I like this camera and would recommend it.

    i think my wife and I have become accustomed to using our phones to record pictures and video these days, but with a new grandchild, I decided we needed to get something dedicated for it. I picked up this camera since it seemed to have everything in one, was compact, and advertised 4K resolution. Out of the box it has many pieces such as a carrying handle, shades, an external microphone, and several batteries. I charged up both of the batteries before I really gave this camera a good testing. It basically turns itself on automatically when you open the viewer. The factory default is vlogging camera that films what you are pointing at while insetting a rear-facing video. This was novel to me for about 5 minutes, then I wandered through the menus to change to a regular video camera. The navigation through the settings menu did not take long and was easy to learn.
    Using the video camera was a little awkward for me since I have large hands. The record button is around my thumb, but I have to stretch a bit to start/stop recording. It was otherwise easy enough to switch between video and still picture mode. I recorded a bunch of walking around the house in lower light, outside during the day, and then at night using the night vision. When reviewing the video, I noticed the lower light situation cause a lot of pixelation showing the lack of lower LUX. Outside video was good, but it didn't seem to like any fast movements. The night vision is IR, so the picture is in black and white - mostly what you would expect. What bothered me the most was that the video really wasn't 4K. It's useable video once you get used to the quirks, but I played the video on a 4K television and I can say that it isn't that high of resolution. The black levels are all over the place. After hours of use, I can say the battery life is surprisingly long for the size of the battery. It's unfortunate that you can't charge the batteries out of the camera since it would be nice to have one on charge while using the camera.
    Overall, I would say this camera is good for a starter. If you, or your kid, is getting into vlogging this might be the right choice as you get used to it. Personally, the black levels drive me nuts, so good lighting is key when using this. Not the best, but definitely not the worst.

    Nope nope nope... No no and I mean NO... I am not being mean at all just speaking the truth... The zoom in, barely can see, videos are blurry I've tried to focus every way still blurred results.. pictures and up close videos are good. But anything past around 30 feet is a NO. I wanted this to record my son on the football field, I should have left this at home and used my phone.. It's definitely a no for me.. and it's too late to return it .. bad , poor quality for videos and distance pictures

    Despite its appearances at first glance, this is little more than a toy. The picture quality is decent, but I'd be shocked if it were actually 4k given the fit and finish of the rest of the camera. It is very cheaply made, with loud buttons and a tedious user interface. To that end, my kids love it, and it has held up surprisingly well to their abuse. However, this is not a camera that is going to stand up to legitimate use over the long run. It is effectively an expensive toy camera made to look like a high end personal video camera. Given all that, it is wildly overpriced for what it is and you would be far better off going a different route if you are trying to find something to capture videos with reliably.

    For 1/6 th of the cost it does a good job. It keeps video stable as you are walking around or excess movement to a minimum. Probably better suited for vlogging because of the dual camera feature which is really nice! I believe what alot of people forget is that your SD card has to be able to handle 4k in order for you to actually shoot 4k for example about video of the dog is not as good due to the fact I only had a 80MB/s SD card lying around and not UHS-II SDcard which could handle 4k!

    I can recommend this camera. The camera is very easy to set up and use. The battery life is quite long and the video quality is great, I was surprised. It can very much capture some of the great moments we didn't realize we were having while lifting the beach.
