I own 3 GM zooms , and a couple GM primes. I was always hesitant to purchase these because of the price for what you're getting. And I've come to use Sony only for professional work, where I play with Fuji and now Nikon ZF for fun -- however this lens combined with Sony compact FF has made me reach for my Sony more often because of how light and out of the way it's been.
Optically it's good enough, I pair it with the ZV-E1 so 2.8 is more than enough for low light, and I've grown out of the (super) bokeh phase. Auto focus is top notch with any modern native lens. I'll probably pick up the 40mm too since I already have a 50GM.
