It works really well for $20, and 10 GB is super generous; that should last all month for Google Maps, email/texts/Snapchat and any menus or destinations you need to research on the go.
It is decently fast most of the time, and you'll have coverage in most tourist areas. I even used it in Hokkaido and on the lower parts of Mt. Fuji!
The only downside is I occasionally had periods of "No Service" in areas of coverage that would resolve after restarting the phone or cycling on/off airplane mode.
All the people who say it did not work likely had the following issues that can be avoided by reading about your phone and this plan:
1) Your phone is not unlocked
2) Your phone does not support the 4G LTE bands that are listed in the specifications on this Amazon listing
3) You did not correctly enter the access point name (APN settings) that are included on the install paper with the SIM
An alternative if you can't/don't want to read any tech specs is to just shop around for an eSim, again, IF your phone supports eSim!
