These shorts are made of 100% cotton. The fabric is quite thick without being excessive. The shorts look great, fit great, and are very comfortable. The size 30 fits as it should. The metal zipper is strong as is the button on the shorts.
I have recently lost quite a bit of weight and have needed to restock smaller sized clothing. These are some of the best I have bought and the price is great,.,

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice fabric in shorts that fit perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice
Good quality shorts. Fit and size are true. Looks good and comfortable. Has very little stretch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mens shorts
Good purchase. Fit well. Good material.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grown man shorts
After reading some reviews on the sizes and length by those who stated they were similar sized as my husband I decided to go with a 34, glad I did. They were a little big in the waist but the length was accurate. Shorts come just above his knee which looks nice if I would have purchased his normal size (32) they would have been too short (daisy dukes lol). The material is very soft and the shorts are very well made. Great for the summer, I ordered him multiple colors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value in a decent short, and also a short length.
I usually get Lands End and LL Bean shorts, which are very good quality, when I can find them with a 6- or 7-inch inseam, like these. I find 10-inch inseam length uncomfortable, especially if I run in them, and personally, I think long shorts look dorky. To each his own. I would say the Lands End shorts have a bit better finish, and they have stain resistance, which I doubt these shorts have, but for every day look-neat shorts these are a price bargain. And I expect they will work well as walking and exercise shorts when they get older and worn. Also, Amazon offers them in a lot more color choices than Lands End. These are not stretch shorts, which I don't need.

3.0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done, but not my favorite
TL;DR: they are ok but there are better options for the price. Unusually high waist (or low crotch, depending on how worn). Slightly tight on hip. Some minor quality concerns but overall good enough.
Most of my complaints are with the fitment. They are true to size (38) and technically should work well enough but they just felt slightly odd. The first thing I noticed is that they are really high rise. I had to either pull them up grandpa style with the waist basically at my belly button or keep them at my normal waist and have the crotch hang low. I went with the latter which makes the overall length look more like typical shorts with a 9" inseam and also produced a bulge when sitting down that would give women false hope. I laid a pair of my old shorts on top of them with the waists lined up and confirmed that the crotch does sit a solid 2-3" lower (also the zipper is a lot longer).
The hip area felt tight when I put my hands in my pockets, especially if I had my phone, wallet, and keys in the pockets, but to be fair, I do have a rather big butt and thick thighs, and I am not used to non-stretch fit pants. Maybe the stretch fit version of these is better. I am very glad I got the classic fit and not the slim fit because those would definitely not fit.
My only quality issue is the fly button seems to be sewn on kind of flimsily. It may be fine but I feel like it will eventually fall off. Otherwise, the material and sewing seems solid for the price. Hopefully they won't shrink in the wash. I do appreciate the 2 belt loops in the back instead of the usual 1, since my shorts often like to sag.
I can't recommend these shorts as a first choice, but if you don't want to pay full price for brand names and can't find any other good deals, they will work. Personally, I will not be buying these again as I feel like there are better options for a similar or even lower price if you're willing to look. My favorites are the Member's Mark shorts from Sam's Club for $12-15, but they are only sold during Summer. I have had good luck with Saddlebred, Izod, Nautica, Polo, and Chaps as well when they go on sale at department stores for $15-25. I also ordered a pair of Izod Saltwater stretch shorts on Amazon that I like a lot better for only $18, but price and availability varies widely depending on size and color.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overall good quality
A few things to note: fabric good weight & weave - good quality zipper, which is super important. Feels true to size.

4.0 out of 5 stars Long
Bought these for my husband in a few colors. Fit perfect at the waist so true to size but they are a little long. Lightweight and soft feeling.
