These are an extraordinarily well constructed pair of men's shorts -- almost tailored, if I can use such a word in this day and age. Both legs are the same length (what a concept!) and the pockets actually have buttons! No velcro! Which gets covered with lint and wrinkles and puckers and ultimately makes the entire part of shorts look rumpled and even dirty. The fabric is real fabric, the length for my 6ft1in husband is perfect (despite the fact that he is now wearing a size 38 waist! Yikes!) I mention the waist size because as his waist size continues to, uh, change, I can't tell whether it's a true 38 or whether it runs small, etc. At $20-something these shorts are 100% better than the ones I bought a few months ago at Costco which are now faded with pocket tabs covered in lint due to the velcro. Whoever invented that stuff???!!!

These are such a great color. Hubby only wears cargo shorts, I would buy these again and again. And probably will he’s lost weight so too big now. Love that they have other colors besides khaki

These shorts are great, and they fit very well. At 6' 5" it is often hard to find shorts that fit, but these shorts are great. They're not necessarily oversized, so don't plan on that, but they do fit very close to the specified sizing chart. Overall they are great.

Just received these shorts today, so my review is based on my first observation & first wear.
Living in the tropical climate & being retired, I wear shorts about 98% of the time. I usually order the more 'brand named' tactical cargo shorts, so I was initially hesitant to order the Amazon Essentials brand. But these are almost 50% of the cost of most of those "big brands", so I thought to give it a try. And I'm sure glad that I did.
These cargo shorts seem heavy duty & very well made. Stitching & workmanship looks great, the fit is very comfortable standing & sitting. The rear pockets & large cargo pockets are ample with hidden buttons, although I would prefer the velcro like on the other name brands. I don't understand the extra pleats on the cargo pockets - not sure if they're made like that for esthetics or function?
For the price, looks like a great buy. Only time & with several washing will tell how the fabric & color holds up.

Ordered these for a “dress like a dad party” - perfect look but my conversions from womens sizes must’ve been way off because I can’t even pull them on. Womens size 8, bought men’s 29. Incorrect!!

The good: soft cotton, large front cargo pockets, non-nylon (metal?) zipper, good design, buy when on sale (lower than discount or odd-job stores)

The bad: each front cargo pocket has two buttons under the pocket cover n are awkward to button/un-button while standing up, these shorts are long (slightly above or below the knees - for those who do not have long legs). BC of the soft material, it's hard to say if these shorts will last for two summers.

Getting rid of the cargo buttons n stitching velcro pieces on the pockets - 1/2 hr to 1 hr job depending on one's skill or 10 min job using a sewing machine!

Once washed, the flaps on the back would look awful bc they do not stayed down unless if they are ironed. To resolve the issue, replace the pocket buttons with velcro - more time spent if it's worth it; otherwise find another pair with velcro straps.

These shorts are perfect for my job working on yachts. The pockets are deep and convenient. Thick feeling quality material. They look good on me and the zipper feels like it will last. Faded a bit after two washes, but still fine for work.
