My son is 9 and these fit great. I wouldn’t suggest older kids to use these as they are not very big or durable. It was a great addition to the Halloween costume. They are easy to use. Just put them over your head and there’s a drawstring to tighten them.

Cute and lightweight. Perfect for costumes and pretend play. Made of foam and light plastic. I have rowdy boys and it is still in tact.

I ordered these for my 3 year old grandson to go with a football uniform for Halloween. He is ecstatic! They are a tad big for him, but he does not care. Like other reviewers have said they are somewhat "flimsy", but they are intended for use as dress up/costume and for that they are perfect!

Franklin and Amazon ought to be ashamed of themselves for making and selling this product. I know the expression "you get what you pay for" but this is even worse than that. Labeling it as "Costume" is far from accurate as it ought to have the word JUNK in parenthesis next to the product name. The photo is the worst false advertising I have seen in a long time! It is literally a flimsy piece of thin, black foam with two little molded plastic cups sewn to the foam, which by the way have ripped entirely off on one side since you have to carefully try and tuck it under a kids t-shirt so it will stay and have some resemblance to football pads.

We got this for our youngest son (3 y.o.) for Christmas because he lives and breathes football. He thinks they're real pads, because he is 3, so he loves them! I am the one who is let down that one side has completely ripped apart in just 1 month of use and the other side is close behind.
Little kids put their heart into this kind of thing because they believe it is the real deal. My son continues to wear it even though it's ruined. I couldn't take it away from him if I tried. How disappointing that Franklin would produce such a lousy item. Worse of all (and I am a die hard patron) Amazon is stooping pretty low to make a lousy couple bucks trying to sell this piece of garbage!!!

My nephew is obsessed with football so, naturally, we had to deck him out in football gear. I wanted costume -style pads that would fit a three-year-old. These are.... not it. They're so flimsy. It's essentially two pieces of craft foam laced together with a shoelace with some light plastic to cap it all off. They came smooshed in a bag that creased the paper-like foam to where it wouldn't really hold its original shape. It was just before Christmas, so it wasn't worth the return, but I wasn't pleased.

They were still adorable (largely because of my nephew), but from a gift perspective, just get the kiddie football pads from Walmart. They're maybe $10 more for infinitely higher quality. These would work in a pinch for a child's Halloween costume, I suppose.
