These hats are surprisingly good looking, comfortable, and very useful. I ordered one for my husband after reading the Wirecutter recommendation and, upon seeing it, immediately ordered one for myself. I wear it for going out after dark to snip herbs in the garden, etc. It's warm, but not as warm as my regular fleece hat, so I don't use it for dog walking. However, I'm considering their fleece lined model for that sort of thing. The light is bright enough to replace a flashlight. My husband wears his in cold weather while doing outdoor tasks that used to require a headlamp and, sometimes, just as a hat.

This hat is Awesome!!
I love it!! No need for a hand held Flashlight when You have this Beam lighting the way.
It's Warm & Durable. You can wash it. Just take the light part off. I air dried mine.
The Light shines very bright!
Leaving your hands Free for other things. I bought these for Gifts.
Very affordable. You can not, not buy just 1. They have many Colors to choose from. 1 sz fits most. Plenty big enough. Would highly recommend. Just purchased 4 more.

Material is nice and soft as well as warm. The light is bright and easy to pop out to wash the hat or charge the light. I bought one for each of my family members for when we have PNW power outages as well as for for some of our "White Elephant" gift exchanges.

What else can I say? It’s a great idea. The hat isn’t super premium material or anything, but it’s nice enough.

Mine has held up well thus far. If it lasts me 3 years I’ll consider it money well-spent. If it lasts longer, that’s a bonus.

The light is incredibly handy. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve already been out somewhere, needed a light and remembered the hat. It’s easier that holding your phone as a flashlight too. Leaves your hands free.

The light isn’t like a spotlight or anything, but it’s certainly sufficient for you to see where you’re going in pitch blackness or to work on jumping a car battery or maybe pitching a tent at a campsite in the dark.

I like the fact that the light pops out and it can replace the battery. That means it’s not just some disposable item destined for the landfill in a year.

I think it would make a great stocking stuffer or a gift for someone handy in your life or just about anyone. I’m planning on buying a second one to leave in my cars glove compartment. It would be a good item to have in a bug out bag or emergency preparedness kit as well.

UPDATE: I washed the hat in gentle cycle and dried it on low heat and it came out even softer and in great condition, I’m so pleased. I was worried it might fall apart since it was inexpensive. I’m so impressed with this thing that I bought 4 more. Two for me as backups and two as gifts for other people.

I like that the light is removable and rechargeable. Because it is LED I can see great taking the dog out at night. It’s a lot easier than trying to control my dog with the leash, seeing and carrying my phone as a flashlight…
