I work outdoors all day in the Texas summer sun, and I have lots of long, thick hair. I am SO HAPPY to find a hat that doesn't trap heat and allows me to wear my hair up. This one has a nice wide brim - wider than any other hat I own that I could comfortably and practically work in. The brim is firm enough that it doesn't flop down and block my vision, but it gives enough to look graceful and not stiff. The weave is nice and tight, so I trust its sun protection. I've had trouble with hats fitting well, so I appreciate how easily it adjusts. The loops for the detachable straps are discreetly inside the hat, so they don't show when you are not using the straps. The open design in the back is nice as it allows freedom of movement without a brim hitting my back when I look up. For travel, it rolls up into a nice little packet about the size of a pair of socks, and it has an elastic band to secure it for that purpose. On top of all of that, it has a beautifully fashionable look. Such a thoughtful design! I highly recommend.

Brought it with me in a backpack on a recent trip. So easy to bring along and provides great screening from the sun. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I have a large head and it just barely fits. Would be nice to have a slightly longer Velcro strap in the back.

Most people aren’t wearing nearly enough sunscreen to actually protect their skin. Even though I know how much to use (two long, generous lines the length of your longest fingers) and try to do so, I get extra reassurance from wearing this. It’s easy to put on and the top opening makes it cooler than wearing a full hat. (Just don’t forget the scalp SPF!) After wearing it for a few hours straight, the Velcro was coming a bit loose and I had to readjust, but that was no problem.

It’s a sturdy, well-made accessory and elevates a simple summer stress and sandals to project another level of elegance. I always get compliments on this hat and my overall look when I wear this.

When I'm out in the heat, I want my hair up anyway, so this is a perfect solution for a sun hat. Plus, I travel full time and this rolls right up and packs small and doesn't seem to disintegrate like other straw hats I've traveled with. My only beef is that the gap in the back leaves the back of my neck semi-exposed, which is one of the areas I'm trying to keep shaded by wearing a sun hat. I took the band off my mother's old sunhat and put that on this one and the bow in the back kinda helps. It looks okay with my hair down too, though I hate to expose my scalp/mangy roots to the sun. I guess I could buy both kinds and just trade out which one I want to wear...I'd definitely purchase this hat/brand again!

I love that this connects in the back and how its flat - So I can drive in the car comfortably/lean my head against the headrest.

I bought this hat because I’m getting some chemical peels done on my face and needed extra shade when I’m outside gardening or driving in the car. It connects in the back with dependable velcro. It fits snug around my head with room to give or take. The Velcro does not tug on my hair at all. It doesnt move but isnt super stiff . Ive been wearing it for a week!! My dad says I look like a princess working in her country side estate and I really do feel like that, lol.

Im so happy I got this style over the fabric ones with the drawstring. I can move my head all around and I can count on this thing not to fall off into my work …or slip to where I have to adjust it. It’s really perfect. Great price. Might buy the whole family one. Will be wearing all summer!
