I really like how these shorts look, the material is light weight and falls nicely. Elastic waist band as well as a drawstring. I did order the 44-46 waist, my husband is a 44 but that size did not fit him right, too tight. I do recommend these shorts but order a size up to get a good fit.

Better than I expected

I was actually looking for a different kind of workout shorts. I ordered these thinking they probably weren’t what I wanted or be happy with. Actually, after they arrived, I was SO sure they were flimsy and uncomfortable that I didn’t open the package for two weeks. Then, as Florida is prone to, it got hot and muggy and it was either a pair of swim shorts or these. I opened the package and put them on and was surprised just how well they fit, how comfortable they are and how versatile they are. So I ordered another pair. Not a bit disappointing. Lightweight with pockets. Great.

Bought my husband two pair of these shorts. He loved these shorts! Because of the zippers keep his keys and phone in place. I bought two more pair. Way to go, great product, light weight and comfortable!

I decided to give this brand a chance. I was looking for some comfortable shorts to wear to an amusement park and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed. All pockets have zippers which is very important when you are in an amusement park. Nothing falls out. It was hot so naturally you will be sweating a lot, however these shorts are very breathable and they did not get wet and they were quite comfortable to wear. They fit perfectly. I purchased the 9" ones, they were exactly what I was hoping, full range of motion, shorts were very light weight and comfortable to use during long period of times of walking. Honestly you do not feel the shorts when you are wearing them. I am highly satisfied of my purchase and I am planning on purchasing more in the future. If you do not want to spend $50 or more on shorts these athletic shorts will do the same trick and in my opinion better since you are not shelling the extra cash. I recommend.

Really good workout shorts

These shorts are very nice and fit really well. As stated in a lot of review, these are longer than 5" shorts, but they are more like 6" shorts. Zipper pockets for front and rear. One modification I made was to remove the string/pull on the front zippers. They are put on with a slip knot, but they seemed to stick out a bit. I left the one in the rear on as it makes it easier to unzip rear pocket and doesn't stand out.

Best Shorts for the Price but Oversized & Limited Colors in sz. XS

I’ve tried several models from these Amazon Chinese brands in a sz. Small & XS (few make an XS). Fortunately these Northyard ones in a sz. XS fit me nicely despite being closer to a sz. Small in US brands like Nike, New Balance…. This sizing inflation seems to be common with these Chinese brands since, of the several I’ve tried, only this one XS (and no sz. Smalls) fit me nicely despite their size charts showing that I’m a sz. Small (or somewhere between a Small & XS). If Northyard wants to accommodate the widening girths of the world they should consider adding sizes 5XL, 6XL… rather than up-sizing the smaller sizes. For this reason I’m deducting one star.

My other complaint is that Northyard seems to offer very few color choices in the XS size (only 3 when I bought these and I liked only one of those colors…I was hoping to buy another one of these in another color but for now it’s just this one until Northyard considers small/skinny people to be real customers), while there’s 26 colors available for most of the other sizes. For this reason I’m deducting another star. NORTHYARD - PLEASE MORE COLOR CHOICES FOR THE 7" SIZE XS!

Otherwise these are definitely great shorts and seem to compare easily with other US brand shorts costing 2-3x as these (I like ‘em better than the Prana’s I own). These are also much nicer than all of the other Amazon Chinese brands I tried. The material is not too thick or thin, seems very breathable & is comfortably stretchy; and I love the convenience of three pockets & the security of zippers on all of them.
