Product Description
LAPG Men's Core Cargo Lightweight Work Pant
The LA Police Gear Core Cargo Pants provide all the key features you need in a pair of cargo pants, without the added weight and bulk you'd find in a traditional pair of bulky outdoor/work pants. These simple, all-purpose pants are durable enough to stand up to daily use on duty, while hiking, or at the construction site, while remaining comfortable enough to use for office wear or just around the house.
These tactical cargo pants are stripped down to the basics, but still have a metal YKK zipper, elastic waistband for comfort and CCW, angled front pockets for clipping a knife, light, or pen, articulating knees for flexibility, and of course two big cargo pockets that close with hook & loop. The 55% Cotton/45% Polyester Rip-Stop fabric is both tough and comfortable.

Dickies makes cargo pants with straight legs that can be ironed with a center crease, but they pill and fade quickly. I never needed extra knee room to bend and shoot but maybe others do. It just looks odd to have baggy knees on your pants. They always look unkempt. These pants fit all right otherwise and have excellent pockets with lots of room. The pockets are not 'detached' on the legs which makes them more stable and easier to get things in and out fast. Velcro beats buttons here hands down.
The 65/35 poly/cotton material in these pants is light weight and has an almost velvety feel. So, the material hangs onto any animal hair or dust that you may pass. I wear the black pants as part of a uniform and have to keep a lint roller close by.
I have been washing eight pairs of these pants (others from their tactical line-same applies to all) for a year and they all look worn and faded. I am looking for a different brand to try. Perhaps nylon or a poly/nylon blend for summer wear. The hardware held up great and the design is very good, except for the baggy knees. If they get the material right this will be a good pair of pants for people with swollen knees.
Unfortunately they have a critical design flaw which makes them nearly unusable as duty/tactical pants....
There aren't enough belt loops. If you wear a duty belt, or anything else that attaches to your belt/waist, these pants will have a hard time staying in place. My duty belt pushes the pants down, under the belt. This causes them to bunch up and my belt to rub against bare skin and/or underwear/shirt that used to be tucked into the pants.
It's all a lot of words to say, these pants would be 5 star perfect if there had been at least 2 more belt loops at the back. No pair of "tactical" or work pants, larger than a 34" waist and meant to be worn with a belt, should ever have less than 7 belt loops.
I have had these pants a little over a month now, worn them 2 or 3 days a week, washed them as instructed no more than 4 or 5 times. But the material in the crotch/between the thighs is starting to discolor/turn white. Also, yesterday while getting ready for work, the button at the front randomly came unstiched. Not poped off, not broke loose... just unstitched itself and fell off. Very disappointed in that. Easy fix for sure. But still sucks.
