5.0 out of 5 stars Great nonslip shoe
Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2024
The last similar (same brand) pair I bought lasted almost 2 years before the soles became slippery. So I went again with the same brand. They’re lightweight and the slip on style is great for work. They stay cool and are very comfortable. Perfect for my work, but obviously not recommended for really wet work areas. But they do dry out fast if you get them wet. Nice and flexible as well, with good arch support.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lasting long

Very comfortable, wide. Slip-on shoes with permanent elastic laces that don’t tie.
Great slip resistance working in professional kitchen.
Food will get stuck in mesh material so you have to keep on top with wiping them off after a day or two of work. They’ve lasted long. I’ve been wearing them for a year. Still going strong.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great shoes, but not for $80
Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2024
They're pretty good shoes all in all, I've owned about 5 pairs now. The soles always seems to deglue at exactly the same time after about 5-6 months.

Pros: breathable mesh keeps you a little cooler, shoes have pretty good support, flared heel means more nonslip surface area and good for pivoting (which I do a lot of at work), generally pretty comfortable during a 12 hour shift in a kitchen. The "captive lace but not shoelace" design is actually pretty ingenious

Cons: breathable mesh also means spills and food have a straight line to your feet, and cleaning them properly is pretty hard. The captive lace holds in soils pretty well. Soles tend to suddenly come unglued simultaneously, and shoe goo/super glue doesn't adhere very well.

Biggest con: they're now $80, which is nearly double what I paid the first time I got them. I would buy another pair but at this price the value proposition for what's essentially a consumable shoe that wears out twice a year (at least) makes it pretty unattractive. There are still $40-50 shoes out there that are only 10% worse than this one. We're rolling in the dough in a less figurative manner in the kitchen and $160-$240 a year in shoes is a little steep.

All in all if you're doing serious dirty work in the food industry, maybe consider something in faux leather that can be cleaned off a little easier. I love the breathability of the mesh but I got tired of the constant stink, even after soaking/drying. These would be ideal and last at least a year for a manager/supervisor that occasionally hops on the line or FOH.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprise in the Snow
Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2024
I purchased this shoe as well as a pair of the Skecher Afterburn M tennis shoes. I wanted a dedicated work shoe, because I was going though my shoes pretty quickly from wearing the same pair all the time. So, being that I had already had two previous pairs of the “Afterburn” shoe, and burned through each of them in just over a year respectively, I decided to get another pair of them and also get a pair of the Cessnock Food Service Shoe strictly for work. Both pairs of shoes arrived yesterday, and today I wore the Food Service shoe (FSS) to work for the first time.

I slipped them on and found them to be a perfect fit. They are very light weight and comfortable. Usually, I find new shoes need a few days of wear to break-in until they really conform to the shape of your foot and then begin to fit well, but that wasn’t the case with these FSS shoes; they fit perfectly the moment I put them on.

I wore them all day at work and discovered something that really surprised me. We had a snowstorm today and got about 2” by the time I got to work, and had a good 7” by the end of my shift. I park outside so of course I have to brush the snow off the car. After doing so I knocked the snow off my shoes before getting into the car. I was surprised to see that the snow didn’t stick to the material on top of the shoes, it was as if there was a water repellant in/on the material. I was sort of wondering why my feet weren’t getting cold while I was cleaning off my car and I guess that explains it. Another surprise was the fact that these shoes make no sound when walking on a tile floor while having wet soles. The “Afterburn” tennis shoes squeak like a rusty hinge when the bottom of the shoe is wet and you walk across tile or other such surfaces, but the FSS’s, are quiet as a mouse, not a sound comes from them, you could almost call them Ninja shoes.
As for the style, well that’s a personal preference and these shoes suit me just fine. I think they look sharp, and nobody even noticed I had a new pair of shoes on today.

Durability is the unanswered question and being that I’ve only worn them one day, that question will remain unanswered for a while. If I can get a solid two years out of them, just wearing them to work, I will definitely buy them again and certainly would recommend them to a friend.

I hope this review helps with your decision. Peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Shoe Choice

For the everyday shoe, this one is perfect for the one the go work or that subtle work that is near more wet areas. The shoes feel great and are exactly the size they say they are. For me the arch is at a good rise but I think others that need a high arch are going to need inserts. I am just pleasantly surprised about these shoes.

I’ve been in the bar/restaurant industry for well over a decade and these have become my favorite non slip shoes. I ordered the men’s because it was nearly $20 cheaper than the women’s version for whatever reason. Same exact shoe.

Still comfortable during doubles (12+ hr shifts)
Definitely non slip and lightweight!

Not as comfortable as one would think for a scetcher shoe. The inside sole started peeling within a week of wearing them. I’m on my feet and walking a lot during the day and my heals started to hurt. Average shoe.
