The sneakers are well-made with a comfortable insole, perfect for all-day wear and active play. I would definitely recommend these sneakers and plan to get them in size 4 for the upcoming school year. Highly recommend!

I returned the first time I had an issue with this product and ended up getting replacement. Must have been a fluke with packaging / warehouse. I’ve since ordered I think 5 or so of these shoes for my two boys for the next few sizes as honestly the quality is phenomenal (outside the one shipment) and they’ve worn nicely and my kids love them. Definitely would recommend.
First review I think I’ve written, but I was disgusted as it appears there is mold on these shoes. The box was in a bag but had some minor damage to the box itself (not Amazon bag, so seemed weather proof). Maybe there is a mold issue in the warehouse? Never seen this before - returned it promptly, can’t gift my kid these. Hoping the other pair I ordered for my other son (shoes in transit) comes in better shape

One of the standout features is the rugged sole, which provides excellent traction on different terrains. Whether on rocky trails or muddy paths, these shoes offer stability and grip, ensuring my child's safety during hikes. The supportive construction also helps prevent any discomfort during long walks. They are not waterproof so be cautious of adventures that involve stepping through water. The kids socks definitely got wet after stepping through some water.
The design of the Trail Chaser is both practical and stylish. The sneakers are easy to put on and take off, thanks to the hook-and-loop closure, which is great for kids who are still mastering their lacing skills. Additionally, the color options are vibrant and appealing, which my kids love.
Comfort-wise, these sneakers are well-padded and provide good arch support. My children wore them for extended periods without any complaints of discomfort or blisters. They are also lightweight, which adds to the overall comfort and ease of movement. The shoes are a bit stiff and hard to put on at first. They are true to sizing and love that they have half sizes.
Overall, the Merrell Unisex-Child Trail Chaser Hiking Sneaker is a reliable and comfortable choice for young hikers. Despite minor sizing and not being waterproof, the excellent support and traction make them a solid investment for any child's outdoor adventures. I do think these shoes are worth the money.
