Just a damn good tablet - sure it's pretty basic, and that's what I was looking for. Fabulous screen quality, as well as responsive touch screen. It's thin, the size is perfect and is light weight. Battery life is average.

First thing is first, this is a budget tablet and that must be kept in mind when buying it. This is not a Sammy Tab S Ultra and wont perform like one. (I have that beast also) Keeping this in mind, this tablet is not meant for high performance things like some gaming. I personally bought this table for use as a media device to place in a mount in my garage over the work bench. For my use case I opted for the 4gb/64gb option, the heftier 8gb/128gb version might be a better performer with the doubling of your RAM.
Build quality is awesome for a budge tablet. No plastic anywhere in the frame or back cover. Buttons and screen are responsive and look great. Screen brightness is good for indoors but lacks a bit in direct sunlight where it can be hard to see some things. Comes with a charging cable but no charging brick. I have plenty around but keep this in mind if you don't have a bunch laying around in a drawer. Tablet is light and easy to carry around. Bezels are minimal. Wifi and bluetooth connections are stable without any dropouts that I have noticed. Speakers are decent on their own and loud enough. Battery life is average under heavy use like streaming video. Samsung's One UI has never been my favorite skin of Android and it shows on this tablet. I find that there can be lags and a bit of stuttering when maneuvering around the settings and swiping screens in general but that goes away while in apps. Again this might not be as noticeable in the 8gb RAM version.
Overall I very pleased with the purchase. At the time of purchase this was only $10 more than a Fire HD 10 2023 and I can honestly say it puts that to shame as I have used both. Build, screen, software and no ads all make this a no brainer if you can hold out for a sale.

You end up searching and searching. After finding deals galore with all the tech specs you've wanted for half price, I simply went with old reliable. This is our third Samsung tab A. This one is superior to the others. My 12 year old uses it for school, art, and gaming. She has yet to complain about speed, connection, freezing etc. It just works and I'd say if you're not looking for top of the line with specialized features, I can't imagine how this A9+ wouldn't work for most people. 8 GBS ram is quite functional right now. Battery is good, screen is good, colors are good and storage space is good. Totally worth the sale price of $230.

Good tablet for the price

I mostly bought this tablet just to stream shows and read on. Both of which it does perfectly. The tablet is quick and snappy with loading and navigating which is probably due it it's Qualcomm processor, I've found myself frustrated many times trying to use slow and sluggish budget devices so I'm very satisfied with the experience here. The 1080p picture on the lcd display isn't anything amazing but for a budget device it gets by, I love the smooth 90hz capability as well.

However I don't love that out of box my unit suffers from a dead pixel on the lcd but fortunately it's so small that it's barely noticeable. It's not a deal breaker for me I just expect better quality control from Samsung.

Surprisingly a major positive is the sound quality. I found myself ditching the earbuds a lot with this tablet. The sound is loud and clear with it's four speakers! Very surprising for a budget device.

Overall I'd recommend this tablet to anyone wants an affordable and capable device either for work or leasure. I haven’t tried gaming on it but I'm sure it would handle itself pretty well. A great value but If this tablet goes on sale than it's pretty much a no brainer.

Note: Annoyingly this tablet doesn't a include a USB-C charging brick. I had to use my phone charger instead because the included charging cable was USB-C to USB-C. I only own USB-A bricks. So be prepared.

Awesome Performance at a Fantastic Price, Very Impressed

I've played around with various tablets in the past, but am very impressed with the Samsung Galaxy A9+ Tablet! Really good performance at a budget-friendly price point. Processing speed is fast, with really smooth navigation and nice split screen functionality. Pre-loaded with some apps, but without a lot of the unnecessary bloatware you typically find on devices. Sound quality is good, and the tablet itself is sleek, thin, and lightweight, for easy daily use. Has an expandable micro SD card port that can handle up to a 1TB card, which is nifty, and there are lots of neat options built into the OS that make it feel very modern and enjoyable. For the price, this should satisfy most of your needs and give you a lasting tablet without breaking your budget. Only con is that the camera is just okay, but it's not a deal-breaker as tablets aren't primarily used for that these days anyway. All in all, a fantastic tablet that will give you a lot of bang for your buck. Would definitely recommend!

Great tablet, great value

I was looking at the Pixel tablet for $500 but I already have 3 Google assistants and an echo dot. This tablet from Samsung is perfect at $169. The snapdragon processor allows it to work as smooth and fast as any cellphone. The size is great, and the picture and sound quality are terrific as well. Speaking of sound, I laughed at "quadrophonic surround sound". We're talking tiny little speakers in a tablet. Boy was I surprised, in fact if you hold the tablet close to your head it's like the sound of headphones without having anything in or on your ears.
Cons:
The cameras aren't great but I would never take pics with a tablet.
It has no IP rating but I use it indoors
It doesn't support wireless charging, a feature that I would like
It has no fingerprint scan which I really miss as I use that feature for all my secure apps
