I initially reached out with some questions regarding the server and got a quick response from Strong IT (Parker). Based on the response, I decided to purchase the server. While they were testing/preparing the server they reached out asking if I had any customizations I wanted done to the server prior to shipping.
No drive trays/caddies were included, but fillers were included. In this particular case it did not matter that the drive trays/caddies were not included, because I transferred the drives incl. their trays/caddies I already had from an old G8 DL380 (25 bay server). Afterwards I booted into Intelligent Provisioning's 'Storage Administrator' utility to set the controller to HBA mode (default is RAID mode) and after a reboot all my drives were recognized with the ZFS pools intact in Proxmox.
The service from Strong IT (ask for Parker) was great and he even send me screenshots (iLO 4) showing everything green across the board (CPU, MEM, FANS, etc.) while they were testing/prepping the server for shipping.
It's only been a few days, but the server is running smoothly. I asked Parker for some quotes in regard to a possible future CPU upgrades and additional Memory and he send them to me quickly.
