Top reviews from the United States

5.0 out of 5 stars On Sale, Expected Issues, and Impressed
Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2023
I bought this to upgrade from a 25" 240hz 1080P monitor.

Pros:
+ Large and crispy display.
+ Very bright for my use at just 40/100 brightness.
+ Good motion handling/response times with "Fast" overdrive setting across refresh range; professional reviews state overshoot sub 60hz but I don't personally see it.
+ Black frame insertion works well, don't see the red fringing noted by professional reviews.
+ Amazing colors and the brightest red you've ever seen.
+ Zero dead or stuck pixels on my unit.
+ Great gray uniformity, no clouding on my unit when displaying all grey.

Cons
- Subpar contrast ratio when comparing white versus black; the color makes up for it though to give a stark contrast. Lowering the brightness causes contrast issues to be more noticeable.
- IPS glow can be excessive in bottom right corner when displaying a full black screen or comparing UI elements corner to corner. After a few days I don't notice it anymore, but it's odd because if you look at the display from the right side it disappears.
- Very small amount of backlight bleed at bottom center (roughly 2" x 1"; normal panel lottery). Not visible during content and very acceptable overall.
- Black frame insertion does not work with Gsync/Freesync enabled. Not a deal killer for me, but if it's something you want consider the Gigabyte M32Q though read reviews as I've read some panel QC issues (dead/stuck pixels).

I don't miss the 240hz monitor. The pixel response times are an improvement over my previous monitor so it actually appears more fluid or same at a lower refresh rate. Always remember refresh rate means little if the response times aren't good enough.

The input lag is also comparable, though driving a 1440P display versus 1080P does cause its own slight lag (normal increased delay between frames from drop in performance).

I will say that 32" is probably too big for anyone playing competitive FPS games unless the monitor is set further back. Viewing the full screen takes an egregious amount of eye and head movement causing fatigue and decreased personal performance. It's just not as easy to see everything on the display at once. I'd say 27" as the limit there. For anything cooperative, story based, or consuming regular content though, the increased size is amazing for the immersion it provides.

I have to mention the color. It's phenomenal. On dead pixels test, the colors are almost blinding in their intensity at just 40/100. The red pops the most and it's a sight to behold. I believe this is the main benefit of LG's Nano IPS panels that comes at the expense of contrast ratios. That contrast isn't as bad as I expected it to be based on reviews. The color does make up for it.

Regarding the contrast, it's an odd one. The worst contrast panel I saw was on a TN gaming panel where the black was grey and the white was a shade of grey. Colors were also dull. The limited contrast on this panel is different. The black is grey but the white and colors are vibrant as hell. It's a much easier situation to deal with but if you're coming from a VA panel or OLED, you may dislike it.

Overall, for the price I paid for it on sale ($279), this monitor feels like a steal. The panel lottery was kind. IPS glow similar to other reviews, no dead/stuck pixels, and only a very small amount of backlight bleed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Specs for the Price Point

On paper the specs are very solid for the price point -- 32 inch, 1440p, IPS, 165hz. Had to downsize to one monitor coming from 3x24inch monitors and overall, I’m pretty pleased with this monitor so far. In my opinion, 1440p is the perfect resolution for 32 inches because without scaling the text in 4k would be too small and straining for the eyes.

I wanted an IPS, something with decent color that I could use for movies, minimum 144hz refresh rate and low response time for gaming, and non-curved. I wasn’t looking for something curved because I need the maximum amount of space for my desk (curved takes more space) and because I think watching movies on a curved monitor is silly.

My decision was between this and the Samsung Odyssey G5 and I ended with the LG because of it being IPS and non-curved.

Very smooth gaming with 3080ti and solid refresh rate so no complaints.

Colors are okay. Not as deep and saturated as other monitors but I’m okay with having something less vibrant by default. You can always go into the picture settings and adjust the contrast and color temp to your liking.

~92 PPI and you don't really notice anything being too pixelated on-screen.

Monitor menu system is pretty good. Very responsive and smooth but some settings are disabled in picture adjust when using display port version 1.4 for some reason. Had to switch to 1.2 to enable the rest of the options in picture adjust. Not that it’s a big dealbreaker since the bandwidth for 1.2 is still good for 1440p 144hz but not that intuitive.

Overall, this monitor works for my situation and I’m very satisfied with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful screen, amazing quality, low stand
Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2024
Perfect replacement for my 32" 2K Pixio that just died, has great definition, super fast refresh, very smooth frames, it's obviously the perfect size because it's the same as the one I'm replacing, and 2K is always a great middle ground between needing insane internals to run games at 4K but still having a noticeable improvement over 1K. If you're still using 1080p in 2024 I would very strongly recommend upgrading to a screen like this. One main factor of why I got this screen over others is how low the screen can go on the stand (height/tilt adjustable). Most stands, especially for 32" screens, have a good 5in. below the screen to the desk, my seat is low and this is a large screen, so for the center to be eye-level it needs to be a couple inches off my desk, this stand accomplishes that out of the box! Very happy with my purchase, definitely recommend this screen to anyone looking to upgrade!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great mid-range monitor for Xbox Series X
Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2023
I was honestly tired of looking at monitors by the time I chose this model. I read review after review, watched video after video and grew frustrated at the inconsistencies between reviews of similar models and the incessant reviewers constantly upselling higher end models. I thought, what the heck, I’ll try it out, and if I don’t like it, I’ll return it and learn my lesson. This monitor is more than adequate for my needs. I am a huge Red Dead Redemption 2 fan and it is the game I play 90% of the time. I’m also not a big FPS player, so I wasn’t so concerned with having hdmi 2.1 4k 120. This monitor will do 4k 60hz and runs RDR2 beautifully. I love the styling of this monitor as well. Stand is very sturdy. About the only drawback to this monitor is the viewing angles aren’t the best because of the type of panel. Other than that, I would highly suggest it for players who don’t need a super high performance monitor for fast-paced RPG or FPS games.
