5.0 out of 5 stars A very capable machine for much less than new.
Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2024
I'm not an enormously tech-savvy person, and I don't need bleeding-edge tech. What I did need was a new desktop computer, the old one, another iMac, was thirteen years old and had seen better days. While adequate, it had issues. I didn't have 1500 for a brand-new machine, nor did I want to spend that much even if I had it.
However, you pay for quality. This is a fact. Macs are quality machines. I have had very few issues with mine over the past 25 years, so I was NOT in the market for a PC.
What to do? Well, I recently purchased a great tool through the Amazon Renewed program, and it was awesome! So, I thought to try a renewed M1 iMac. The M1 machines are more than powerful enough for me, and the software will be supported for quite a while. I found a silver 2021 iMac for a very reasonable price point, almost half the price of a new one, and I ordered it. Would my gamble pay off?
It did. When the machine came in, it came with a power cord, which it should have. Included was an off-make, adequate wireless keyboard, and mouse, but I didn't use them because I had my old and perfectly serviceable Apple units. There were no instructions, but you don't need them, anyway. If you can find the power button, the computer walks you through the process. The iMac was loaded with Sonoma 14.5, see picture, and it was like new. No blemishes, and no glitches. Setting it up was easy as pie. The only issue I had was getting my Apple keyboard and mouse to pair—this could have been due to their age. They are at least ten years old but still work. Something tells me that if I had used the provided set, there would have been no problems. Well, when my original Apple stuff dies, I'll unbox the aftermarket stuff and use them. For now, my old stuff works.
This is a great machine, and Amazon Renewed once again provided value for dollars spent. This iMac acts and looks like a brand-new unit, and my pocketbook isn't crying. You get all the new-gen features without the new-gen price. What's not to love? If you must have cutting edge, go ahead. Buy a new unit. I don't need cutting-edge. I need something that will do ten years of service. This has that potential.
Recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well packaged Terrible keyboard and mouse
Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2024
When you buy a premium 2nd hand product the keyboard and mouse packaged here are absolute garbage you could probably buy a better mouse and keyboard at dollar tree

The seller really should specify that you won’t get a quality keyboard or give you the option to purchase the oem ones as an add on at a higher cost

1.0 out of 5 stars Keyboard NEVER work! Mouse was also faulty.
Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2023
I was so excited to receive this product today, all that has faded. I've been trying to connect the mouse AND keyboard for an HOUR. It does not register it AT ALL. Neither of the ones I received are the magic mouse or keyboard.... I've tried with the USB also multiple times and neither work. Just ridiculous honestly. The instructions are also vague (directed towards the magic mouse & keyboard) and don't provide any important detailed information.

********* UPDATE **********

The keyboard never worked causing me to not be able to do anything with the computer - the mouse started working until hours later and because of this, I obviously wasn't able to do much of anything except TRY to find a way around this since the keyboard did not work. Obviously, I was not able to type anything to be able to sign in etc because of the faulty keyboard they sent not working. After hours, on my own accord, I was searching ways to either fix this or find a way around this. Neither of my other bluetooth keyboards would have worked because I needed to pair the devices 1st (which would require I actually be able to log in yet to PAIR them! But I still attempted it) . Thankfully, my technology skills aren't horrible so I was able to locate the accessibility options through the startup options screen. I was then able to pull up the VIRTUAL keyboard from THE computer and login that way. It was beyond frustrating to spend all that time doing this just because they sent a keyboard that does not work. The mouse was bad, disconnected often and thankfully I already had other mouses that do work so that was an easy fix once I was able to login with the computer's virtual keyboard to pair MY mouses to the computer.

The computer itself works good. I will not be going through the hassle of replacing it because as to right now, it has worked (only reason I'm keeping it). But the ACTUAL point is, there's no reason to send faulty equipment. Other customers have received the right magic mouse AND keyboard so why is this not done for EVERY customer?????? Even then, I wouldn't have been upset if the crap mouse and keyboard they sent would have actually been CONNECTING and working properly (The keyboard is useless and doesn't work AT ALL with no device. It never worked with my iPad either, just useless.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good choice to save a buck

I will spare all the Apple stuff and focus on the refurbished parts and included/not included parts.

This did not ship with an Apple keyboard or mouse like the original one would. For the refurbished price of this, this is a $100.00 + miss but you're still paying a premium for this refurbished.

The unit itself. Perfect working order. Zero signs of wear or tear.
This is a great unit for your day in and out online, emails and basic home use. It gives you years ahead of usage.

My gripe is it's only 24 ". It didn't ship with an OEM keyboard and mouse but a cheap and I mean cheap keyboard and mouse. I guess credit for including something. I never used them, I just used my Logitech MX mouse and keyboard.

I have used Amazon's refurbished program before and I am a fan. This unit as the M1 was barely slightly less expensive than still buying new even with limited supply left on the M1. Also, the new iMac has already gone on sale so hopefully refurbished prices will drop to make this a better value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great machine

We ordered a few of these renewed M1 iMacs for the office. We do graphic design and video editing for clients, nothing fancy, so these machines are perfect. Even though this particular unit is renewed/refurbished, it looked shiny new out of the box. Very clean and no sign of use at all. But the AC adapter was dirty and looking aged. The iMac booted up perfectly and our IT guy upgraded them to the latest OS, everything runs totally smoothly and fast. Our external SSDs all connect and work flawlessly.
