5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to setup, Easy to use, LARGE screen, beautiful clarity and color

The keyboard is missing the side calculator, but it's not like I'll have difficulty finding a wireless one that does. Although when I bought my first Mac (Air) it took me a while to acclimate myself to the difference from Windows, once I did I won't go back. Love how it looks, the sleek mouse, the small keyboard, the large screen. Migrating from old laptop to this went so smoothly. Set it up, plugged it in, did the initial setup and 20 minutes later I'm going thru my emails. So easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast, Quiet and crystal clear display

Very clear display and the sound quality is great. It is also very quiet compare to windows which tend to have loud fan depending on manufacturer. I think if you just need browsing and here and there daily usage like most people then this will suffice. Maybe 16gb ram would have been much better but nevertheless , it's still snappy performance even with jut 8gb

Wife desired to get a desktop to start doing social media so she prefers apple products. We purchased this with the mini box thingy lol. Both were easy to set up, desktop came with mouse and keyboard. Love the display and all the features that it comes with. She did purchase the Microsoft suite which can be shared with a few other computers in the home. I recommend and you do the have the option to purchase apple care.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Computer
Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2023
I upgraded from an Intel 2019 27" Mac. It was an impulsive decision and I regret it, but it is a better computer. The computer is much faster, but not enough to warrant the upgrade. It was very easy to set up. Everything loads faster and the apps from the phone that work are a huge improvement to logging in to the usual junky websites places that are mostly app based create. I think 27" is too much, so I must be weird. The regret is really that it's not much of an improvement over the 2019. I thought bluetooth 5.3 would be better than 4. whatever it is, and it makes no difference. My headphones cut out when I go in my kitchen. I think it's worse. I also thought wallpaper would work with the new chips, it does not. I don't know why they can't figure that glitch out. It happens all the time for years, then it goes away for years, then it comes back. There's some funkiness with Music which makes me have to quit and restart it too, but that continues unabated as well. Basically it solved none of my problems with the 2019. I was also worried there wouldn't be a new one for years (since there wasn't last time) and that they are going to stop updating the OS on the 2019 soon, probably next year. It probably wouldn't have been a big deal though, because the 2019 is still a wonderful machine and they still do security updates for years. The 2019 has so many ports and a huge drive. I bought the midrange one so I'd get more ports since it was the same price as the low end at the time, so it was a good discount. It's 5 stars for an upgrade from something really old. It's a 3 for me.

I liked everything about it with one exception - no Superdrive (CD/DRD). I guess with the slim design there just wasn't enough room for it? Other than that, this is an amazing Mac.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worthwhile Upgrade from my M2 MacBook Air
Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2024
The M3 iMac has been great to work with. Since I prefer screen real estate over portability, I decided to upgrade from my M2 MacBook Air when I heard that the iMacs were upgraded to the M3 processor. Somehow, I didn't hear about this announcement during Apple's "Scary Fast" event in October. I have a 27" 4K Dell Monitor to extend my 24" iMac screen to provide a lot of space to work. In debating the $1,299 versus the $1,499 model, I decided that the lower cost model was sufficient for my needs. I'm not a gamer so I didn't require the higher Core GPU. Additionally, two ports met my needs. I went with the green model to match my green iPhone 15. I like the color; it's refreshing and feels spring-like as the season is about to change in the Northeast. I had an existing Azio Retro Keyboard and a Magic Trackpad, so I didn't need the included color-matching keyboard and mouse, so I recouped some funds by selling them on Marketplace. As I'm slightly color-blind, I didn't initially realize that I received the color matching accessories as I thought they were only included with the $1,499 model. The person who purchased them brought it to my attention. It would have been nice to know in advance that the accessories were color matching for those of us would have this affliction. It didn't mention that in the description. The iMac M3 is a great, fast computer and aesthetically pleasing. I highly recommend it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Great, fast machine. Now, my 2 cents:
Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2024
It's a great, fast machine. That said, and I know to a lot of folks, it's nit-picking, but the system application icons are incredibly ugly, and it bothers me... I mean, they're so bad that I can't stand to look at them on my dock, so I've removed most of them. Particularly egregious are the icons for Launchpad, Mission Control, Screenshot, Font Book, Print Center, Preview, News, Music, iMovie, Image Capture... they're just plain ugly. Sorry, but they are. So, along with not being able to run any 32bit applications, the inability the change the native system applications as was possible in earlier OSs, it's a bit of a let-down. Yes, I know what you're saying - just get over it - but it really bugs me. Apple can do better. Why take away the ability to customize our desktops? Just saying. On top of not being able to run my old Adobe CS6 on this thing, the ugly as all get-out icons that can't be changed is a big drag. Signed, Picky Petty.

UPDATE: Never mind about the icons. Now that I've used it for a while, I've found there's so much more to hate. Severely disappointed. Is it fast? Yes, absolutely - but what does that matter if you have no storage for files, & have to resort to an external HD, which you can't sync with Dropbox? Oh, and then the external HD becomes unrecognizable, no matter what, so no access to files. That's not even half of it. I hate this thing & wish I never bought it. I've been a loyal Mac user since the early '90s - have had 6 of them, but I'm calling it quits after this. Apple should be ashamed.
