Received the server, mostly as advertised.
First the bad - I was the buyer that asked about adding the bezel in the q & a above - I could not figure out how to message the seller however I did find a customer service number which is a plus. After talking to a rep I referenced my order and was told a bezel will be included.
Upon receiving the order, there was no bezel and only one power supply instead of the advertised two. Additionally the handle on the power supply was broken off, and the metal cage bent, a result of the custom foam packaging being off-centered toward the rear, such that the power supply handle if attached straight would have been pushing the box out. It most likely went in attached and being a high point, was broken in transit. Upon calling serversuperstore, they referenced my order and were able to ship out a second PSU and the bezel that night. They even offered to replace the psu with the broken handle - a rarity of customer service anymore.
Now the good -
Everything works. Any signs of wear externally were minimal, and better than expected given this is a refurbished machine. After testing every component works down to the individual fans. All unused drive slots have a blank, and the machine arrived very clean internally and externally with a 180 day evaluation version of Windows server 2016 installed that I expect was loaded for testing. Additionally I put the CPUs under full load for 20 minutes and everything performed as it should. The r620 is an impressively quiet machine in the server world, and under light to moderate loads I wouldn't mind it in my office. Nearing full load it is louder, but still quiet given what it is - a 1u dual processor server. If you are a hobbyist or home user, take relief that you won't have the sound of a dozen harpies screaming in unison echoing through your home unless you are really pushing this machine to it's limits in a warm environment. For a home media server, it would be about the same noise level as a standard desktop. Though I received only one 495 watt psu that had a hard go of it in transit, another person who I linked this same listing to bought two, and received both with dual 750 watt psus. Luck of the draw I suppose, as the listing only advertises the redundant 495 watt units. Your mileage may vary.
Overall this is a great deal on what once was a 12,000 dollar machine. Granted it is seven years old now, however for a small business or home dedicated server needs you would be hard pressed to find a better system for the money. I wouldn't hesitate to order again if I had the need.
