5.0 out of 5 stars Tiny but powerful

Tiny but powerful. I placed the unit on an open rack so ventilation is not a problem. No noise what-so-ever from the unit. Fast response and no connectivity issues. Very satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend this mini PC.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice, small PC
Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2024
I got the Nucbox M3 to run streaming services and web browsing on my TV and have been very happy with it.
    Pros:
Its boots quickly and does everything you would expect from a Windows 11 PC.
Web browsing and TV streaming work as expected.
It easily runs Moonlight to stream games from my Desktop to the TV and I've had no WiFi bandwidth or latency issues.
It doesn't use a lot of electricity, .016kWh when watching YouTube (according to my Kill a Watt)
Its small and the black case blends in with the TV and cabinet.
    Con:
My only critique is that it is silent most of the time however during heavy use such as when running updates and installing software the fan has an aggressive ramp and becomes noticeable.

Overall I'd recommend it as a light duty desktop, Home Theater PC, or garage/workshop PC.

i got it this week . working great for office work and internet stuff ( youtube. hd vids . heavy softwares .streaming . ect.. . not playing any pc games so i cant realy tell . but for my reguler usage pc preform just like any big atx case size pc .
for the ones that worry if the usb type c port will work with displayport out put . i can confirm that usb type c cable to displayport works just fine .
i used Club3D CAC-1557 USB Type C to Displayport cable from the m3 to my dell monitor with dp output . works like a charm
the m3 noise is just fine . sometimes can have small short noise for few seconds when cpu get a bit overload . but for now i am happy with the pc . i think wont be using any old big box pc cases. this one just not taking space and looks great on the pc table . i definitely will buy in the future more mini pcs from the gmktec brand .

4.0 out of 5 stars Update: Gets hotter than it should. Great Mini PC for Office use and Retro Gaming plus a Plex Server
Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2024
This is a really nice little Mini PC with some decent capability and a couple of caveats.

If you look at the screenshot of Lexar SSD that comes stock with the PC. The Read/Write Speeds of the 476GB one. You will see that they are standard for Gen3x4 M.2 PCI-e SSD. The second SSD Read/Write speeds is the one that most people may find shocking. As it is a PCI-e Gen3x4 2242 M.2 SSD. Even though the information says it only accepts SATA. It's a cheap as possible SKHynix I purchased off Amazon for $16. So that's probably why the write speeds aren't as good as expected. The empty 2242 M.2 SSD slot is PCI-e and SATA. The motherboard even states it if you see the picture of the inside with both SSD's removed. The HWINFO64 data shows that it is PCI-e Gen3 compatible as well. So a 2TB 2242 M.2 SSD and a large multi TB 2280 SSD and you could have a decent amount of storage in this PC.

I was able to get all three monitor outputs working properly. The only thing I couldn't get working was HDR for my 4K HDR TV. I have been able to get another PC to output 4K HDR to it so I know it wasn't that. Probably Windows or Intel driver issues.

The one thing that I didn't like was the fan noise. Any time the CPU had to ramp up for any task. It would be almost as loud as older PC's loud fans. Looks like the CPU cooler needs to be larger. I did go into the BIOS and set the TDP to 45W instead of the Standard of 35W. That still shouldn't have that much effect on temps. Even the screenshot from HWINFO64 Sensors shows the slightly higher temps than you may like from it. Possibly a mesh ring around the whole top panel would help with that. Or possibly a bullseye looking design in the top panel.

This PC will make a great retro gaming PC and some newer Windows games but I wouldn't try Cyber Punk on it. The game benchmarks show how well it could possibly handle different games. You could also use the 2242 M.2 SSD as your OS drive and use a PCI-e M.2 External Graphics adapter in the 2280 slot. Making it so you could run many more modern games at much higher settings. But you would still have to deal with the CPU temp issue and possible thermal throttling. Even 2-3 more mm on the thickness of the cooler would help.

You could also purchase a low cost DAS and make a great Plex/Emby/JellyFin server out of it.

    In conclusion.
This is a great little PC hampered by a CPU cooler that just isn't enough to keep this thing as cool as it should.

I really do think they should release different tiers for their devices. Say make one motherboard model but only enable things like Thunderbolt/USB 4/5 with the install of the hardware for it for those willing to pay a little higher price. Or even the possibility for an external GPU connection or something like that. Heck a slightly taller PC would even allow a 2.5" SATA SSD/HDD to be installed. Considering the bottom plate actually has a spot molded in it for one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Mini PC
Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2024
I got this little guy because i was needing a new minecraft server pc. I wanted something small that i could just put under my desk and forget about basically. The computer that was running my ATM9 Server had a i7-4790k and pulled about 100watt from the wall 24/7. This little guy I have set to performance mode in the bios. it only pulls about 15watts constant and spikes as high as 65watt. As you can see from my photos include the ssd that comes with it is pretty dang fast. The cpu can hold its own for heavier tasks. While under heavy load the fan will spin up and it can be loud at full speed. I dont hear it that often and it sets 3 feet from me. I have played ATM9 With the server running on the same machine and it played just fine at about 30 fps. I figure this gpu should be able to handle minecraft and older games like gta5 just fine. This does come with windows 11 pro. The Intel v226 LAN does get full through put at 225MB/s to my Data Server.

I have been having one issue that i feel is more windows 11 issue then the little pc. Every now and then the Network driver just F's off and i have to restart it.

TLDR; Capable CPU, Gpu lacking but can do some light gaming, SSD nice and fast with second m-key ssd slot available, Plus quicksync.
