4.0 out of 5 stars Renewed duplex scanner
Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2025
First impressions wasn't ideal as it arrived full of scuffs, dust, and some leftover adhesive strips for some reason. There's a sticker on the outside of the tray indicating the web address of the driver to download. I went there and downloaded a TWAIN driver without much difficulty. That said, the user is on their own as far as the actual software to scan documents unfortunately. This is because that included on the same website has since been removed without explanation and obviously not available to download again, for some reason.

If the reader is using Windows 10, then they can just use 'Windows Fax and Scanner', a preloaded app bundled with every Windows 10 installations. With it, they can scan documents and save them in TIFF or other picture file formats like JPG. If they'd like to store it in PDF like a civilized person, then they can just search for free document scanner software for Windows on a search engine.

I've settled on an open source software called NAPS2. It's quite easy to configure and use. In fact, it's pretty much turn-key as it can get. Just install it only after installing the TWAIN driver for the software to detect the USB device (scanner). It makes quick work of scanning documents even when in duplex mode (both sides at once) assuming that the user has chosen DPI levels of 400 and below. Personally, I've found grayscale at 300 DPI to strike a great balance between scanning speed and scan quality. Your mileage may vary of course, depending on their needs and document types.

4 out of 5 stars. The performance is there but I'm really not sure if this product has really gone through proper refurbishment channels to be called "renewed". Again, it arrived with notable superficial damages and stains. I just can't fathom the refurbishment company would skip a simple wipe down, before or after the unit's inspection. More so if even a single component's been replaced. I may be nitpicking here, but it's just not what I'd have expected for something that costs $150, at least at the time of writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Scanner!
Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2025
I bought this to replace a Raven scanner that went out of business. I read the comments regarding Windows 11 and did research online. It clearly stated that the software was not available for Windows 11. I downloaded the software from Fujitsu which was for Windows 10. I then downloaded NAPS2 and it worked perfectly.
The NAPS2 is great scanner software and I had the scanner working within 15 minutes. The packaging was adequate and as described the scanner was refurbed, and I was satisfied with the condition.
It was a great deal for $140.00!

2.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to Configure Frustrating Setup Even on Supported Windows 10
Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2025
I purchased this Fujitsu scanner bundle, fully aware that the seller clearly stated it isn’t compatible with Windows 11. That wasn’t an issue for me since I planned to use it on a Windows 10 system. However, even on Windows 10, the setup turned out to be an absolute nightmare.

The configuration process was overly complex, with outdated drivers and clunky software that demanded far more troubleshooting than any scanner should. Despite spending hours trying to get it running, I ultimately ended up with an unusable product.

While the scanner’s physical condition seemed acceptable for a renewed item, the software experience was deeply frustrating. If you’re tech-savvy and patient, you might succeed in getting it to work, but be prepared for a time-consuming and frustrating setup process.

Overall, I can’t recommend this scanner unless you’re absolutely certain you’re ready to tackle the setup quirks and limitations. For me, it simply wasn’t worth the effort.

The drivers don't work, ok, download the updates, sure, "No scanner detected"

Whatever. Sending it back. Good luck.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Reasonable Choice for Office Digitization Needs
Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2025
The Fujitsu FI-6130 Document Scanner Bundle from Koncept promises a robust performance right out of the box, especially given its renewed status. This scanner's efficiency in digitizing documents is apparent with its high-speed scanning capability of up to 18 double-sided pages per minute, addressing the needs of a busy office environment. One of the standout features is the scanner’s ability to produce instant searchable PDFs, which significantly eases document management and retrieval.

The dual CCD technology elevates the scanning quality by offering accurate color reproduction and enhanced image clarity. While the scanner seems designed to handle high-volume scanning with ease, it does face some operational challenges. Some users have pointed out issues, such as difficulties with working on the latest Windows 11 operating system and an occasional failure to feed pages - a concern especially if you rely on the scanner for daily operations. However, such problems might be specific to individual units or setups.

Moreover, the scanner excels in vibrant color reproduction courtesy of its 24-bit color depth, making it suitable for a wide array of applications. The bundle includes a 24V AC adapter, USB 2.0 cable, and a microfiber cleaning cloth, implying that it's ready to go with minimal setup fuss.

While the performance has been mostly positive, there's room for improvement in compatibility with newer operating systems, and the availability of all functional components, such as the paper holder, to ensure hassle-free use. For its price bracket and enhanced features stemming from its renewed status, the Fujitsu FI-6130 seems to offer substantial value to those needing reliable document management solutions.

Furthermore, be aware that when they say "renewed", they mean it. Mine came with some significant cosmetic damage that is very noticeable from a distance.

    My final score: 4/5.
