5.0 out of 5 stars A game changer devide

As an accountant, I work with multiple excel documents, and I used multiple displays connected to laptop via HDMI and USB-c ports until very recently our company replaced HP laptops with Microsoft Surface laptops. Unlike my previous HP laptop, new surface laptop came with one usb-c port and one usb-a port, which was quite frustrating as I could connect only one external displays. Microsoft offers docking stations for surface laptops with the price starting at $200 which is quite expensive for my budget. After several days of searching for the right device, I decided to try Dell docking station, and I wasn't disappointed. It works perfectly for me, I can connect 3 external displays (1 in laptop's usb-c port, and 2 displays in the docking station, 1 port remains available) which is crucial for my work. The docking station also comes with multiple usb-a ports and 3.5mm audio port which is very convenient. As a warning, the device is not plug & play and not identified by windows on my laptop, I had to download a driver from Dell website. Also I am not sure if this docking station can be used for gaming, sometimes there are lagging issues with the image. Otherwise, I am very happy with this docking station.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice dock for "older' Dell laptops
Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2024
Have this paired with a Latitude 3500 and it works flawlessly. Installed the drivers before connecting (as per instructions) and it recognized everything as soon as I plugged the laptop in. I'm only using one external monitor at the moment, but I have no reason to think there would be any issues with two displays. The only downside is this WILL NOT CHARGE YOUR LAPTOP. It probably said that somewhere in the description and it's not a huge deal to have to plug the laptop in, just keep in mind you will need a spots in your power strip for 2 dell 55 watt power supplies - one for the laptop and one for the dock (the dock comes with its own). It's also USB A connection to the laptop. I haven't tried with with a A-to-C adapter, so not sure if it would work that way or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great
Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2024
This product came as advertised and works great. I needed a docking station that had two HDMI ports because all that my monitors used were either HDMI or VGA. I also wanted to be able to use the two monitors while my laptop is closed and have double screens. Once I went into my power settings and told my laptop to "do nothing" when closed, it works like a charm. Installation was easy, it just took a minute or two for Windows to automatically download the drivers, and after they were installed the double monitors both turned on. I then could go into display settings and adjust them to how I like them. Also the docking station comes with a cord that plugs into the back, and then has a USB plug to easily plug into my laptop to display on the two monitors. Glad I went with the Dell.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good device but with an annoying incompatibility
Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2015
I got this device in order to allow me to use multiple monitors on a single, HDMI (NVidia GeForce powered) output laptop. Since the laptop does not have a DP, miniDP, DVI or VGA output, a TripleHead2Go device was out of the question. I used an older and less powerfull, second laptop computer with multiple display capabilities and controlled those monitor with Symergy software, a good solution for the time being, which is constantly improved by its developers. Nevertheless, I was looking for a hardware solution, so I got this Dell USB Triple Display device from Amazon. I am using it connected through a USB 3.0 port that, incidentally, has been behaving rather strange for quite some time now, since it does not recognize any USB peripheral but this Dell device. Now I am using a 40 inches monitor in the HDMI output and 3 full HD monitors in the 3 outputs of the Dell device. The 2 charging USB port on the Dell device do charge according to their outputs as well, despite the problem I just mentioned with the USB port in my laptop. The Dell Triple Dispaly works great, with one annoying inconvenience: The Displaylink software that uses the Dell device is not entirely compatible with the 8.1 OS of my laptop, and it gives me hard times when turning on the laptop every day, impeding Windows to load properly. After few attempts, it also prompts to use the recovery tool of the OS. Erratically, it starts without further trouble. That is why I cannot award 5 stars. I realize that this problem is not Dells fault, but it certainly has a negative effect in the device's usability, being bothersome to devote time to start acomputer that normally is up and running in seconds. Other that that is well build unit and at the end of the day resolved my need of multiple monitors, at a price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for WFH Setup

I am currently using this docking station with my Lenovo laptop and it works great! I can close my laptop and work off of my two external monitors for a much bigger workspace.

There wasn’t anything I needed to install to get it working, which was another plus.
