After logging into NetGears Setup Page and making a password and 2 security questions I found it fairly simple and quick to get the AC1200 WiFi Range Extender to lock into my router. I live in a mobile home and the WiFi connection in the living room where the router is located is fine but when you take your laptop or Ipad down to the other end of the trailer, in the bedrooms you lose quite a bit. On a lot of sites you would get a lot of buffering. Once I put AC1200 in the back bedroom it was like having the router in the room. Plus there are no cord connections, just plug it in the wall socket. If I want to use an Ethernet Cable with my laptop in the bedroom there is an Ethernet Port on the side of the AC1200 Extender to plug into. Some Extenders I reviewed before buying this one don't have that feature. You can't go wrong with this model. Works great. And if your a member of Amazon Prime you'll get it in 2 days. Worked Great, Failed at 89 Days, Did Multiple Resets, Has Now Been Working 9 Months Without Interruption
Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2015
One Year Update: This extender is still working since my last post, without any further resets necessary. Therefore, now that I'm well past my hissyfit and frustration, I'm giving back yet another star, since I've gotten almost 13 months of use of out it other than the few days it was down and I was trying to get it working again.
Previous Reviews Below....
Day 93 update: Horrible product support policy! My extender conked out Friday night, after hours (which was exactly, to the day, 90 days after purchase, but 89 days after receipt in mail). I contacted customer support first thing this morning, only to be told - paraphrasing - that I'm past my 90 day window from purchase date, therefore am not able to receive any support from them. What a crock.
I spent hours over the weekend, combing the support forums, doing everything suggested, factory reset, etc. This unit was working flawlessly from the second I connected it on the day I got it, until it suddenly wasn't. I will never buy another piece of Netgear equipment again, just as a matter of principle. And to think, I highly recommended this company's products all the years I worked in the computer industry. I will leave my original review below, as a matter of integrity, because I was ... WAS ... incredibly happy, initially. Now, I could not be more frustrated.
Second update: After leaving the extender sitting unplugged for a week, I tried the factory reset again tonight. The first attempt didn't work (though I got the flashing yellow light ... but no WPS sync) but the second reset finally did the trick. It's been up and running for about 5 minutes now. Whether it will hold at this point, I don't know. If it is still working next week, I'll consider coming back to reinstate another star or two on my rating.
Third update: So far so good. I've given back two stars because the multiple resets seem to have gotten it functioning again.

If only everything setup this easily! I'm not kidding when I say it was up and running 5 minutes (or less!) after delivery. I opened the box immediately, walked to my office where the router is located, plugged the 2700 into the power supply, waited less than a minute for the power light to turn green on it, pressed the WPS button on the unit, pressed the WPS button on the router, and BAM! Setup done.
Removed the 2700 from the power strip, took it to the other end of the house where the router signal is weak, plugged the extender into an outlet, waited for the power light to turn green, located it on the network with my phone, selected it, entered the password, and that's that. Perfect connection. Nice strong signal. Yay! I'm a happy camper.
*** Quick update .... This unit has given me rock solid performance for about 6 weeks now. I've not had to unplug or reset it a single time since the day I set it up. With my old one, this was a daily necessity (not exaggerating.) Simply dreadful. What a joy this new extender has been. Just wanted to give this update, since I wrote my previous review on the same day I got it, and I couldn't comment on the reliability of performance of it at that point. Now I can say from experience, it's awesome.
