5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing range and connectivity

I bought this to get WiFi to my detached garage. I'd get poor signal and my phone would go to 5G and burn up my data. My router is in my office about 40 feet away, but though a lot of thick walls in a 900 square foot slab house. I put this repeater in my kitchen which faces the garage. I now get excellent signal out at my work bench and also into the yard. The install was beyond easy. I plugged it in, pressed the wps connect on my modem and also the wps on the repeater, and it configured and copied the names and passwords to my original dual band networks. My TV would sometimes lag on 4k videos, so I added it to the extended network and now it works flawlessly. Setup took about 5 minutes. I am impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great! Extending the range to the outside of my house for my Ring cams!

I needed an extender to put in my dining room, at the front of the house to extend the range of my TP Link router, which is located in the BACK of my house (due to where the fiber optic comes in). I figured I would get the same brand and ensure complete compatibility. I was not disappointed. This works well. I was able to extend the range to the front of my property, even out to my mailbox. All my Ring cameras are up and working great. All my inside devices also run smooth, and my Gb service is being utilized to its fullest.

I’m very pleased with the TP-Link AC1900 WiFi Extender (RE550)! It covers up to 2800 sq. ft., and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my Wi-Fi coverage throughout my home. Setting it up was a bit tricky at first, but once I followed the instructions carefully and got it connected, it worked amazingly. The extender now provides a strong, stable signal even in areas that used to have weak or no coverage. It can support up to 35 devices, which is perfect for my household. Overall, I highly recommend this WiFi extender—it’s a fantastic value for the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars Working great with my PC and other devices!

    TP-Link AX1800 WiFi 6 Extender Internet Booster
My home office is one floor below and 30' to the side of our router. Plus, there is a desk, file cabinet and walls between the PC and the router upstairs so my signal was pretty weak. To use this, you have to set it up by plugging into an outlet right near the router and it creates 2 new channels with the same name as you have but tacks on '_EXT' to the ends of the 2 new channels. So you wind up with 4 channels effectively. I then moved the extender to an outlet in the office downstairs which is about 9' from the PC and it found the router again within just about one minute. Then you sign in with the same password to connect your PC, phone or tablet to the '_EXT' channel you want. It worked great and greatly boosted my 2.4ghz and 5G signals to my PC.

I highly recommend this extender for price, signal and ease of setup.

I absolutely LOVE this! I had a range extender previous to this one, and it worked well, but it somehow got disconnected quite a while and I had absolutely no idea how to set it back up even though I had the instructions. THIS one has EXCELLENT range and it's so incredibly easy to set up. No more teenagers griping about how poor their connection is. (Don't worry, they will find something else to gripe about)

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid and Fast extender for a cheaper price

I've had this guy for about 2 years connected via ethernet to my gaming pc and it has worked nearly flawlessly. Nearly I say because we've had a couple of power surges and its been acting up once in awhile. I bought a more expensive extender thinking it would out preform but not at all. The CF-XR182 claimed to be able to crank 2,400 mbps (1,100 more than the TP) but in testing I found that it couldn't. Obviously that speed is impossible with an extender but the CF only cranked ~100 mbps download while the TP cranked ~300 mbps download. This guy is cheap and effective and I've learned that more expensive isn't always better.

Now for the set up, I don't really remember but if I can do it so can you. Don't underestimate the little guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars I’m quite impressed

I was in the market for a better range extender, as my old one wasn’t holding up and kept losing its range more regularly, and couldn’t put out a good signal even 15 feet away in a direct line of sight. My Xbox wasn’t liking the old one anymore and is a main reason why I needed to upgrade.

I happened to notice a couple of these brand new on a body shops reception desk and immediately searched here for it to read up on later. At the time, they just so happened to be on sale at 40% off and not close to Black Friday.

With a range of 2800 square feet, and not hundreds of dollars to get that range; I can even get a pretty decent signal parked in the street, from the other end of a normal middle class house. Well worth the $40 something bucks.

Now, I don’t quite have it directly facing my router, more at an angle down the hall next to the kitchen, but even at a 45° angle and probably ~2ft lower than the routers height, I can still get about 250-320 or so during non peak hours of the day, (I have spectrums 1 gig residential plan) sometimes even all weekend. Even approximately 150ft away from the router and out of their recommendations, thanks to 2800 sq ft range, I still average 150mbps or more during normal peak times of the day.

Unlike my old range extender, there’s an app to manage, monitor, set up and configure the extender. If there’s any slowness going on, the reboot time is 10x faster than via the old range extenders intranet webpage. I’d still trust ooklas speed test app for tracking and testing the connectivity to make sure it’s as good as it can get; besides, playing a miniature car game while a brief speed test takes place in a separate app is really unnecessary. I can even get notifications if and whenever there’s a new update. I believe that’s automatic anyway.

The blue LEDs are quite bright in a completely dark area or room, so I did choose to set up an off and on time. It’s important to me that there are light indicators on, during my normal wake/usage hours. So it automatically turns them on about when the sun rises anyway, and off shortly before getting to sleep. Both manually chosen. Or you can have them off 24/7 by pressing the led button on the re550 itself.

It’s been a couple months so far and I’m really impressed with it over all. I truely believe if I had an outlet the same height as my router and I was able to face it directly to my router, I’m sure I could very much get the same neck n neck speeds between the two, wirelessly. So that would make it like having the router on the other end of the house too. Power-line extenders are only as good as the circuit wiring in your walls, otherwise much slower plans would be sufficient.
