5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT!! Huge step up from 1080p!
Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2023
So im writing this review after finishing setting up the settings. Im completely happy with this monitor! I started with a benq 1080p monitor that was both used, & out of an office building. It was great! But fuzzy, lacked sharpness, the fps was only 60 which sucks! & apart of that reason was the hdmi cord, which impacts your viewing pleasure tremendously! I bought an 8k hdmi cord to pair with this monitor, AND even though an hdmi cord isnt listed on the manual as being including, just a dp cord, the seller still includes an hdmi cord in the box!

You get the manual, a 1.5m dp cord, a 6ft hdmi cable, 2 spare mounting bolts, a very esthetically accurate little black plug for the back of the base to cover the bolt there, and the all solid steel stand that is very nicely made, feels high quality and weighty that i very easily put together from just the profile photo on this page, & a standard size phillips screwdriver is all you need to put this together. Be very careful not to push the base into the monitor when assembling! You will crack your screen as this is both very thin & very curved, as stated in the manual.

How to unbox! Yes, you need directions on how to unbox this beautiful monster of a pc screen. I selected to ship in amazon select packaging(VERY VERY IMPORTANT) so mine came to me protected in box within a massive box. Once you unbox the box, you'll want to pull the 360° styrofoam sandwich while holding the two slices together, out of the monitor box being very careful to do so on a bed preferably, as this is not taped or sealed in any way, their just two slices. Find the end that is the BACK of the monitor by peaking inside, and make sure you are back facing up when you carefully remove the styrofoam lid, you will need this to assemble the stand to the back of the monitor in order to lift it.

You'll have all your attachments sat in front of you, and beforwarned, this monitor cant just be snatched up by its screen as it is thin!! And it warns you on the front of the screen or in the manual i think that picking it up by the screen, or over tightening the bolts to the back of the monitor can damage it! Its super delicate & i made sure my bolts where in correctly before trying to screw them in as to not strip them. Once you figure out the base, you can take the monitor from the middle top, and the base itself & place it in its designated area.

My settings. Youre probably concerned about brightness at this point. Not a problem! I figured out the buttons super quick and they where really easy, so i will explain them here. I DONT use hdr. I found it way to contrasted and dark, and my xbox one has a 1440p setting already for me. My settings are as follows, your buttons should be from top to bottom on the back bottom right corner, M, E, up, down, power. M for enter, then M again to enter the selected section of the menu, and a third for that specific setting, then again to enter that setting youve set. E for escape. In the menu after pressing M, your first selection will be brightness, this is only half of your brightness setting. I set brightness to 100, and contrast would be your other half of the brightness, i set this to 65.

Second will be eco, these are some very indifferent and some slightly darker shades of lighting modes, i just left this on standard, movie being the close second i didnt find it benificial to change. Hdr mode stayed off bc it made everything look super gama and dark.

Aspect i left to wide obviously, then color temp was left to user as the best setting, but there is cool, warm, and user is a default because i used the low blue light setting further into the menu to make everything warmer and less stressful on my astigmatism.

Osd settings i didnt mess with. There is then image auto ajust, & color auto ajust but with my current settings, they are greyed out for me and i dont need them anyway. Then a master reset button.

At the bottom there is the settings menu. Signal source(mines hdmi 2 bc that is one of 2 hdmi ports i used & this is auto generated), auto power down option, low blue light(this is a further warm setting) was set to 25 which is the first setting(no migraines for me!) Then there is freesync toggle, and dp toggle.

The colors are absolutely beautiful. It makes me nervous bc its so thin to me, but my last monitor was from around 2014 and about an inch thick lol this one is roughly as thin as a #2 pencil????✏️the monitor ajusts as if it is floating which is super nice feeling, overall my ocd demon was very pleased with this purchase, as well as my blindness. lol everything was slightly fuzzy until i switched my xbox display settings from 1080p to 1440 and now i cant quit stairing at it????????

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product for the Price

I had purchased this for my personal use PC as a add on monitor and ended up setting this as primary after hooking it up due to its appearance, Image Quality and size. Love it and extremely happy I purchased this one. (Thanks to fellow reviewers which helped). Please note this only has a very mild curve which is a huge plus for me but someone really looking for a really curved monitor ...please look else where. I am not a gamer and mostly use it for day to personal activities and a bit of you tube and occassional movies in my computer. Overall very happy and highly recommend for anyone looking for a budget monitor that is slim and of good quality. I have had it for couple of weeks and hope it lasts for a while.

I purchased two monitors. They are side by side. Great picture quality. I also love that I can have multiple computers feeding the two monitor system.

The individual stands are poor so I purchased a dual monitor mounting stand. Unfortunately, the single stand mounting stud on the back of the monitor will not allow the four screw mounting bracket to be installed properly. The single stud interferes with the dual monitor adjustment screw. I had to install the four screw bracket sideways, but now one monitor is 1/4” higher than the other, and I cannot adjust them. I wish I could remove the single stud on the monitor.

Update: Easily removed the plastic cover around the stand mounting stud. The stud is was attached by four screws. Easily removed stand mounting stud. Now the monitors are properly mounted on the dual monitor stand. Perfect now!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good not Great! (But pretty good!)

Lets keep it simple:

Pros:
-Vesa Mountable (and mounted low so you get more height benefit from arm mounts
-Nice bright display (maybe a little brighter than my previous Dell gaming monitors)
-Exceptional I/O 2 HDMI and 1 Display port AND a USB port is AWESOME!
-Again... USB port.. AWESOME for LED lighting capabilities
-Super Thin (at the cost of having an external power brick)
-Matte Finish (No glossy cheap looking plastic! Thank you!!)
-Price... Can't beat it. The amount of features for this price make these a solid choice.
-Good enough picture quality for gaming, desktop, watching movies if you're not too picky.

Cons:

-Although they are 144hz there seems to be a noticeable amount of blur. My previous Dell 144hz monitors were only 1080p but it was crisp at 144hz through fast motion. These give you the buttery effect but definitely not as good as a more expensive gaming monitor.

-Dirty screen effect is pretty notable.. Especially on black or grey backgrounds.. the colors are blotchy and not evenly distributed. The light bleed issues (bright spots on the edge of the screen on an all black image) are almost a deal breaker.. but I don't play enough games on them to really care enough. But I assume on a game or movie with a darker scene it would be quite annoying.

-Colors are a bit washed out and not consistent. Between the two monitors I had to calibrate them to get the greys to look as close as I could even though both are using DP connection they were very different out of the box. 100% would NOT recommend these if you're doing any photo / graphic work that requires a monitor with good color accuracy.

-The controls (Oh god.. they're bad), I have two off brand portable USB-C monitors that have the exact same menu system as these CRUA monitors but they use a little dial wheel for up/down/select. CRUA needs to either implement THAT or a simple joystick like my previous Dell Monitors. These have 4 buttons and the layout of them is impossible to navigate with. Going through the menus is a horrible experience.

-The positioning of the I/O (HDMI, Power, DisplayPort, Etc) needs to be moved up about an inch.
Probably not an issue for most people but I'm picky and like a clean look. The issue is even with thin cables etc they hang down below the bottom of the monitor. Looks like a 1999 "The Matrix" monitor setup. Lol!

-The CRUA Startup logo is UGLY. The logo looks very pixelated and they put it on an awful purple background.. Either get rid of it or just put a higher quality version of the logo on a black background. Again I'm picky.. but if the manufacturer is reading this it's little things like this that make the product look rushed. Fixing it makes the monitor feel more premium.

Conclusion:

Despite the above shortcomings.. I love the 2K resolution, and I use them for mostly desktop work for my job so for that reason the picture is just fine. I would maybe spend more next time, but they're really not bad. I can't recommend them if you're doing photo or graphic design work due to color issues, and not recommend if you're an avid gamer that needs a TRUE 144hz screen due to the motion blur.

For a budget monitor though they're an excellent value. Good enough picture quality, great I/O and I love the USB port for powering some RGB lighting (I got mine from 5 Below) They are also much more stable than the DELL monitors I had as I think it has to do with the VESA mount just being in a better location.

Know what you're buying and I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Truly a solid 4/5 Star Performer.

Bought this for the refresh rate and the curve. The curve is very slight, as its a smaller sized monitor. The picture is great and the screen is crisp and clear. Perfect for gaming.
