Audio port in both front and back

I waited over a month to review this PC to get more perspective on usability and stability. In that time I have experienced no blue screens, hangs, or unexpected shutdowns, and it has performed admirably with everything I've thrown at it. So, I am very happy about that. Not only do you get a lot for your money, you don't have to sacrifice on system stability.

I bought this mini PC to replace an ancient tower PC that finally died. I wanted something that would be a drop in replacement, allowing me to plug all my peripherals, including the PC speakers audio jack, into the back of the unit. I don't like the cable clutter of devices plugged permanently into the front of the PC. Because this was one of the very few mini PCs with an audio port in the back, it allowed me to plug all my cables in the back, leaving both front ports available for temporary devices such as thumb drives. I really love how much desk space was opened up relative to my old tower PC. (One nitpick: the USB-A ports on this PC are "upside-down" relative to how they are on many other PCs. I don't know that there is any standard, but just that more companies have chosen one way vs. the other.)

For those not aware, the Radeon 780m integrated GPU included in this mini PC's processor is one of, if not the most, capable integrated GPUs available today. While it's not going to challenge modern discrete graphics cards, it does allow you to play many modern games at OK to good frame rates on low settings. You will hear the fans when gaming. Not loud, but noticeable.

I bought a second SSD and installed the latest versions of several Linux distros: Fedora, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint. All hardware seemed to be recognized, but on every distro the audio level was very quiet, even with the volume turned all the way up. I did not spend a lot of time trying to fix it. After running the first recommended update of Linux Mint, I lost dual monitor support and could only use one monitor. I'm not sure why.

Fantastic for emulation!!

I've been using this for about half a year now and love it. I use it for Batocera and it runs everything extremely well, including PS3, Xbox 360, and Switch emulation. The 7840HS is great for PS3 emulation because it supports AVX512.

Although I have not had any need to contact tech support, I gave them two stars for it because I hate that Beelink does not make BIOS updates available online.

Integrated graphics have come a long way! This little PC can run games that my old gaming laptop never could with a dedicated video card. Granted, that laptop is like 7 years old now, but even in its time it couldn't run AAA games. This mini-PC can run almost anything. That said, you do have to make certain compromises. As far as running games in 4K and/or at 60 FPS, it is a mixed bag. Older games run smoothly at max settings. Newer games I have to run at 1080p and/or 30 FPS, which I'm totally fine with. If I had to sum up this pc, I'd say it has as much power as a PS4, but with a much larger library of games and the added benefit of playing newer games not available on PS4 (if maybe at medium settings). For a while I debated between getting a PS5 or a mini-pc since they're about the same price (if you account for sales, discounts, etc at this price point). Ultimately, I decided to go for this since I can play all games on my steam library, PLUS most current AAA games (with medium settings), PLUS emulation, PLUS everything else you can do with a PC (internet browsing, photo and video editing, etc). It's also super portable, much more so than a console, which makes bringing it to a game night or weekend getaway very easy. I find it to be very quiet and runs cool. Demanding games will make it run a bit warmer but nothing like my old laptop (you could fry an egg on top of that thing). Build quality is great. Decent amount of peripherals. Bottom line: If your interest is to run the latest games with the absolute best performance, this is not the device for you. If you're a casual gamer (like me) who plays mostly games from 2021 and older and are ok with running newer titles at 1080p and/or 30 FPS, then this is a solid choice.
