    It does not auto load any software like it claims to do on windows systems when you insert the usb-c into the MacBook, but the MacBook does immediately recognize this an a new device.

    I YouTube'd this and downloaded obs studio. Open obs and ADD device (+ button) and select video capture device. Then you can toggle what the video settings are (aspect ratio etc) and for audio choose to also "monitor" the device so you can hear the audio and see the video.

    I easily converted my old vhs home videos with an old vcr, a $10 rca to hdmi converter (Amazon) and this product. Obs saves as *.mov files if you want the highest quality or *.mp4 if you're ok with compression and saving storage space. One huge item checked off my bucket list - old home videos are digitized and was able to share with my mom and dad before they are no longer around - priceless.

    I had no lip sync or audio sync issues. The product worked flawlessly for many hours and did not get too hot.

    Very easy to use--basically plug and play with the right HDMI input program. I was finally able to stream movies and shows on my laptop without needing to plug into the TV. My laptop lacks a HDMI port to begin with but even if it had one--most Laptops only have a HDMI output which makes viewing stuff like consoles, streaming devices, impossible.
    The device itself is reliable and allows me to view content in the highest relative output for my laptop.
