I was looking for a simple way to expand my living room smart TV to read emails, do WhatsApp messaging, and other things I can multitask while watching streaming TV, preferably in a big format so I don't need to wear my glasses. Previously I had hooked up a good laptop to my TV, but that was a waste of an expensive computer that I could better use in other ways. I took a chance when this mini pc went on sale for just under $200. I got it pre-installed with Windows 11, 16 GB ram, and 1 TB of disk space as I am non-techy. The last time I bought computer parts for another computer that I was told was easy to expand, I had to go to a repair shop just to be told I had bought the wrong stuff. I switched my remote keyboard and TV HDMI from my laptop to my new mini PC and just turned it on. I had all my passwords ready. It booted up and was ready to go immediately, and in less than half an hour I had my favorite antivirus (McAfee) and browser (Chrome) downloaded, along with all my files (family photos, music, taxes, etc.) copied over. I'm already watching TV, shopping, surfing the internet and writing this review all at once from my couch. Even better, as I looked for bloatware to uninstall, I didn't find any, just some gaming features which I won't need (but maybe you do). This is a great, non-intrusive living room computer. While I wanted all the storage space for my years of personal files, I think I'll get another pared down one for my bedroom TV as "Smart TV's" really aren't smart enough yet.

Easy startup

Purchased it to attach to a 55" Google smart Sony TV. It was easy to setup out of the box. Attached a usb keyboard and mouse for boot up. Went through a few updates, downloaded my virus subscription and installed. I transferred some files that I wanted to be viewable on the TV as well as a large number of photos. With the windows setup I logged into my Microsoft account and all of my browsing favorites downloaded. I then took the new pc and attached it to the TV with HDMI and mounted the box on the wall with the provided wall mount. I attached a mini-keyboard/mousepad via Bluetooth works great. Connected via Wi-Fi. Sony TV connected easily. Only shortfall is the mini mousepad that I used, small pad very sensitive will take some time to get use to it.

El cumplimiento es lo mas importante que quiero destacar, el tiempo estimado de entrega que se refleja en la pagina es super preciso, en ningún momento lo movieron.
Quede impresionado con lo pequeño que es, literalmente lo puedes llevar en un bolsillo de tu pantalon.
la instalación del Nucbox 7 es super rápida, simplemente te pide que ingreses el idioma de tu preferencia, el idioma de entrada de teclado de tu preferencia y listo, no pide nada mas, ya viene con el Windows 11 Pro, pre-instalada y en menos de 5 minutos ya queda listo para usar, se conecta inmediatamente al internet.
Tiene un rendimiento asombroso, lo conecte a los dos puertos de LAN y arrastra toda la capacidad de internet...
lo voy a usar para programar software y esperemos que cumpla con las expectativas...

lo único incomodo es que casi todos los puertos están repartidos alrededor del mini PC, por ende se tienen todos los cables por todos lados, pero también trae una base la cual lo puede poner justamente detrás de tu pantalla con unos tornillos que vienen en la caja. pero a mi me gusta como ilumina y lo voy a dejar en la mesa.

Works well. Make sure that your monitor can use an hdmi connection. There are only four USB ports. I needed to get an inexpensive hub.

Excellent PC. Does all my renderings in Blender just fine. I am running Cubase, Solidworks, Inventor, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects, Autocad and Autocad Electrical just fine. I do high end 3D modeling and graphics. I purchased the 16GB RAM Version but I am betting the DDR version would be even better. You can do a lot of creation for the Gaming Industry with the NucBox 7. I am extremely happy with this PC and I am on it at least 12 hours per day.

Some Weird Design Decisions

First off, if you’re looking for a desktop computer with solid performance, this isn’t it. You need something with a better processor. The processor in this computer will run Windows—but will be sluggish. I got the computer to run home automation and am pleased with the low power usage.

The designer made some unusual—and less than optimal—design decisions.

The USB power adapter is non-standard. If you think you’ll connect it to another power adapter, think again. The output is 12 volts. (USB is typically 5 volts, but with PD or QC, can be other voltages, if the device and charger can negotiate another option. This one can't.)

The internal sound card is a USB device. This cheapens up the computer by going through the USB bus, but it is easily compatible with drivers.

[Updated: See correction below.] The HDMI ports do not carry audio. So, you’ll have to connect a TV to both the HDMI and the audio jack.

UPDATE: My comment above about HDMI not supporting audio is INCORRECT. The drivers installed on the computer do not support audio over HDMI, but by updating to a different driver from Intel, the feature is supported. (Go directly to intel.com to scan the computer for compatible drivers.)

This was a major detractor for me, since the computer was not useful as a living room streaming computer. I've put one star back with this update. The computer works well for running general office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Quicken, etc.) and works well for internet browsing and video streaming. The slower processor means it will load programs a bit slower, but on the plus side, the processor is very energy efficient.

A lot of value in a little box

I was able to purchase this mini PC for $199 on sale with 16gb ram and 1TB. I am running Linux on it, replacing an older PC that pulled near 100w idle. It's easily doing everything I need, it's silent, and tiny. Can't say enough about it; if you don't require a massive GPU, and you are not trying to break compiling speed records with some 300w TDP proc, get this and enjoy!
