5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding product and service.

The easiest setup I’ve ever done. Quality of materials is great. I mounted ours on an old King tripod which keeps it well off the ground and easily repositioned. Technical service was fast and effective. Using it now with RV in a remote, underserved area of North Carolina. Will be changing to a permanent location in the future. Worth the price!

I was well pleased. I just bought a home in an area with no internet service available. This gave great service and easy to install.

I joined the mass exit out of Los Angeles to a rural suburb that also happens to be located in a canyon. Without WiFi, I couldn’t even make a phone call or send a text message in the new location… and the internet options available were slim. I tried a month with the service provider that had the fastest internet available, which meant I could sometimes make a call and I could stream blurry movies (download speeds were between 10-25MBps, upload speed .05-4.94MBps with packet loss sometimes as high as 87%). So I researched Starlink and found great initial reviews but more importantly, I also found excellent follow-up reviews from people who had Starlink for 6 months or more. I couldn’t find any negative feedback from any writers who were located in rural areas such as myself. So rather than taking time off from work to wait for yet another internet installer coming to my home sometime “between 9am-2pm” I bought Starlink. The box arrived and it took me longer to decide where to put it than it did to set it up. It was so easy! I’ve had Starlink for a week and I can stream movies without getting a headache! My house is almost 3,000 square feet and it works everywhere! The Starlink phone app provides lots of cool features including a wifi signal strength feature that maps your signal strength in real time as you walk around your home. Download speeds are now between 53-122MBps, uploads are now10-30MBps, and zero packet loss. I purchased the roaming subscription so I’m looking forward to traveling out to the desert (Joshua Tree area) to try it out there. Very pleased so far!!! I’ll try to post an update to this review after a few months!

    8 MONTH UPDATE:
Still loving Starlink! I’ve taken it lots of places with the Roam subscription which is a little pricier but so worth it. Suggestion if you plan to roam: buy a second cord so the home cord can stay put (ours has to be fed through a hole in the wall and re-feeding it in or out every time you roam is a chore). The cord easily disconnects and reconnects from the base of the tripod. Another pro tip, it’s a bit bulky to carry around so I bought a duffle bag, I wrap the dish and router in a small blanket to prevent the tripod from scratching them, and carrying it this way is easy. The spare cord either stays in the RV or can also get stored in the duffle bag. Lastly, it sits on the roof at home and on the ground during roaming, I’ve never felt the need to buy any sort of mounting hardware for it. I did get an inexpensive plastic wall mount for the router, but that was just to save space at home. Mountains, deserts, no matter where I’ve gone in Southern California, I’ve always had reliable internet access with Starlink!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a Starlink dealer
Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2024
We were so excited to get our Starlink. Unfortunately there were issues trying to connect with Starlink satellites. Reaching out to Starlink we were advised Amazon was not an authorized dealer and they could not help us with the problem. I’ve talked to several other RVers who purchased their Starlink from Amazon and they had no issues connecting it themselves, however we were not techie enough to figure it out. If you decide to purchase this be aware it’s gen 2…gen 3 is much more stable and if you have issues connecting Starlink is not able to support.
