I got this to replace my prebuilt PC but to also use as a second SSD. Turns out it might be better to just use it as a dedicated storage so I dont have to redownload everything and reformat all the drives. I did download a clean install of windows on it but then decided to stick with my other one and use this for videos and gaming storage.
Installing it was easy, normal SSD size but I DID notice it psychically felt better than my intel one from my prebuilt. You can feel quality! The SSD is all black and has 2 stickers on the back for heat distribution which helps along with my heatsink. It runs BETTER even in the 2nd SSD slot with fast writing speeds and noticeably faster transferring files.

I'm not a huge tech person even though I do game and build my own PC, whoah I know lol, but even I can tell the samsung 990 evo is a beast, and that says something if I out of everyone can see that!

Highly reccomended.

Had an extra storage slot in HP laptop. Simply dropped this card in, and got extra storage. Perfect for my gaming laptop. Fast and reliable. Good value too. Can also be used for backups.

Fast drive and temperature runs around 53C. Did add a $10 heat sink and that kept temperature steady around 50C. Good drive and works fine so far.

It would get a full 5 star review but I had to wait for a week to get it. don't know why they put things on sale then don't have the stock. so if waiting isn't an issue its a great drive. if you need it fast buy from another retailer that will actually have it in stock

There are many, many articles on the eventual failure of microSD cards in Single Board Computers. I can attest to that fact, notwithstanding the superior warranty service from the more popular manufacturers. Therefore for my important SBC solutions, when the feature exists, I try to migrate to SSD storage especially if a boot option is available.

This specific SSD fulfills most of my basic criteria, 2280 form factor notwithstanding - operations, capacity, speed and, for a limited time(?) price.
