Buy it, it's nice and works. It's easily portable and durable. Not expensive either.

Edit: Customer service was super great and let me trade in for a new one which has lasted almost a year now with no problems. Great accessory.

I really liked this dock- I basically just needed a way to output my display to a monitor and charge at the same time. However, after just 3 months of light use it has suddenly stopped being recognized by my Steam Deck. It started with USB devices not working when connected, then the HDMI output stopped working, and then the pass-through charging failed. Now the dock isn't recognized at all by the Steam Deck.

I'm no stranger to hardware troubleshooting, and so I've tried different power supplies, devices, restarting affected devices, and plugging devices into the dock without anything else plugged in. Nothing has gotten it to start working again. It's become a $30 paperweight.

All in all, this is a great dock while it works. For $30 - $40 though, I would have hoped it would have lasted for more than three months of light use.

Very tough and works excellent. Hint....use a 100w charger and not the 60w that comes with the ally. You'll be happier you did so to run other peripherals' off the dock.

It says that it supports 30W turbo with the ROG ally. I have used power supplies at or above 100W like they said I would need to for the 30W mode, but it doesn't work at all in any scenario I could achieve. However it is still a great product and does literally everything else just fine, if not well even. I don't really need the extra 5 watts of power, but it is annoying.

Was working great for about a month that I had it, but the charging stopped working using the power supply that came with my OLED deck. Deck will charge with the PSU, but not through this dock unforunately.

Edit: One week after Amazon closed the return window the entire dock is dead. Seller reached out and told me to reply Full Refund which I did then followed by another message to talk to Amazon. Poor customer service. Will buy the official one from Valve now.

Edit - 6-08-2024 - Steam Deck dock arrived, but decided I wanted to see if there was a way I could open this jsaux dock up and test the internal connections. Before getting to that point I saw online a sequence of having to turn off the deck, connect to the dock without power etc to get it to work on the official dock. I went to go try the sequence on the Jsaux dock and didn't have to because it was now just working as it did out of the box. I have restored my 1 star review of this dock to a 5 star review since I believe for now this is more an issue with the Steam Deck and how it handles docking through either software or hardware. Time will tell.

Compact and works very efficiently so far. Just not a fan of how it holds the deck, it doesn’t feel as secure as I would like but otherwise for the price it’s pretty worth it.

During game play the JSAUX Steam Deck dock loses audio/video connection constantly causing 1-3 seconds of time you are unable to play the game.

Now if you're playing a single player game, annoying. You can still pause or hit the steam button and wait for reconnection. However if you're playing something online you've just lost three seconds. Often times it will happen 2-3 times in a row. Thats 6 to 9 seconds of... well who knows. You can't see or hear what happens.

Unfortunately for me I ordered this and then didn't use it often at first until my son became interested in watching me play a game so I'm already outside my return window. Disappointed but I suppose I can struggle through single player games with it until I can get one that doesn't do this.

TL;DR - Audio/Video signal lost intermittently. Wouldn't recommend.

This thing is great if you are looking for an inexpensive dock that just works.
However
The wired internet speed seems to cap at 50mbps down. On wifi I can pull 500+ without issue.
The internet is stable at that speed, but it isn't exactly highway speeds.

If ethernet is not important to you, and you do not use HDMI ARC for sound on your TV, this really isa no-brainer buy
