    So, you have a LT wireless keyboard and want to pair it. You WILL need a wired mouse or a DIFFERENT BT mouse to use you system and pair the new LT KB/MS. You cannot have a paired and unpaired adapter in at same time. Yes you would think this obvious, BUT if you have been using you LT KBrd/MSe combo, and lost your adapter somehow, well... I HAVE a wired Mouse AND keyboard for just such a thing. SUPER easy that way.

    As for funtionality, they work great. I have a adapter plugged into my Ckl KVM and so get to use it on 4 different machines. :-)

    My old unifying receiver got broken.
    For a new receiver to work with old keyboard and mouse you have to download Logitech Unifying Software.

    This receiver didn't work from day one. I had bought a Logitech MK850 keyboard and mouse combo whose receiver stopped working, very early on, within the time of purchasing my combo. I was working from home and couldn't find info on Logitech website about how to get a new receiver so I decided it would be faster and quicker to receive it, if I ordered it here on Amazon, seeing I couldn't find info readily on Logitech's website. I received the receiver and went to use it but noticed that it didn't fit snug into my USB port, on my computer. I then noticed that the receiver is shorter than the original receiver, the width of it, inside is smaller, and it doesn't have an orange piece inside, it's black. It almost got stuck in my new computer. I am now stuck and can't use the keyboard and mouse because I can't find the right unifying receiver I need. I logged onto Logitech's website, and it wasn't too much help. See photos for differences. In1st photo the one I purchase here is at the bottom (the shorter one) In the 2nd photo the one to to the left is the one I purchased. You see it is hollower inside and doesn't have that orange piece that they say should be inside a Logitech unifying receiver.

    Purchased the K400 about ten years ago - granted, not used every day, but for some specific things for gaming on PS3, PS4, or PC displayed on TV. At some point, the dongle didn't get put back into the battery back plate (whoops) and was lost.

    I purchased the Unifying USB receiver just this week fully expecting to have a problem with it being a decade-old device and also now being used on PS5, but was desperate after resubbing to FFXIV. It works! (You can tell if a Logitech device can use unifying by if it has the orange sun/asterisk-like symbol on it).

    Note that while the PS5 instantly recognizes the dongle as an accessory, your device must be linked to the dongle via a Logitech app on PC first before it can actually do anything on console. Even with that being the case, the process from linking it on PC to typing on my PS5 today was done in less than five minutes, no nonsense, no troubleshooting.

    As an aside, apparently the unifying dongle can be used to detect more than one device as well, so you can still use a full-sized mouse or headphones etc. without using up more USB slots, but I've not tried that out.

    Had to share my good experience for posterity and the gaming community. Also, the K400 (also reviewed) is an amazing companion to go with controller play for console gaming, for overall MMO use (keybinding supported), as well as just chatting in other games.

    I lost the original receiver for an MX Anywhere mouse (which is an awesome mouse, btw) so ordered this as a replacement. Plugged it in but would not connect to mouse. Contacted Logitech support and they pointed me to https://logiwebconnect.com/ to configure the connection between the receiver and mouse. Took a couple seconds.
    Everything up and running smoothly now!

    The receiver didn't work at first when I plugged it in. And provided troubleshooting steps are terrible when you initiate return process... which doesn't seem to allow you an actual return, by the way. They talk about bluetooth which doesn't have anything to do with connecting your mouse via a receiver. So you just google for "logitech unified receiver software" and download / install it. Then it's supposed to work just fine.
    Of note, the receiver has a different shape then the one pictured on Amazon - it's quite tricky to take out of the port since it sits pretty flat.
    Rather than that, it does the job.

    I use two laptops (one for personal that I leave at home and one for work that I leave in the office), and I frequently forget to take the unifying receiver out of my PC and back into my mouse when I'm done using one. Fortunately, purchasing this additional unifying receiver has made it a lot easier for me to use my mouse with both computers! I'm definitely a bit more on the forgetful side when it comes to this specific detail, so I was relieved to find out that they sold these online.
