5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic depending on your use case

My wife likes to listen to YouTube and music late at night and when she sleeps. That constant use at night was burning through phones and hurting batteries. This is our cheap solution! Not the fastest tablet, but it works great, has a head phone jack, and the battery can last a whole night even unplugged. All for a tenth the price of a high end phone. Wouldn't recommend this for games, but it's fine for videos and YouTube and stuff once the updates are all done. Oh, and you MUST learn how to "close all" to save battery. It's swipe from the bottom BUT stop a third the way up the screen abruptly. What a weird quirk for an essential feature.

Great tablet for kids and adults. Great price. Sometimes loads slow but sometimes fast. Great deal and great to use for school or work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy this for only reading ebook OR watching youtube

    1. Everyone was excited about updating to Android 13. It's fine to update, but I should remind you that it felt a bit slow. Still, I'm impressed with the 2 GB of RAM. So, I think Lenovo is really excelling in the tablet department now. Both Lenovo and Android are improving!

    2. The screen is quite good, but I can't say it's the best in terms of quality. If you have a recent cell phone, you may notice small, tiny pixels while watching, or even when looking at app logos. If you also have an e-book reader, you won't notice much of a difference.

    3. The speaker isn't perfectly balanced, but it's still good enough for listening to podcasts, radio, or music. The price outweighs any concerns about the screen and speaker quality. I won't comment on the battery since other reviews cover that aspect.

    4. This tablet is really lightweight. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a case, which feels a bit heavy to hold with one hand. However, this tablet felt much lighter. The entire body, except for the LCD screen, is covered in plastic.

    5. I bought this for reading e-books, and I highly recommend it for that purpose. Lenovo has a reading mode that simplifies the display to either color or black and white. This mode is excellent for reading.

**If you plan to read e-books frequently and watch videos occasionally, this tablet is a great budget option. Let's face it: the iPad Mini is quite expensive and comes with various screen issues, while the Samsung A series is pricier than this product for similar quality. I believe nothing can compare to this product, even if it feels a bit slow or delayed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great simple and affordable tablet!

I wanted an affordable name brand tablet and found this Lenovo 8" tablet on sale...I wanted something bigger than a cellphone and I only needed this tablet to do a few things and with only a few apps and they are making video calls, watching YouTube videos, monitoring a security camera and also to get alerts through the OfferUp selling app. It works perfectly for doing just these things and therefore I didn't need a more pricier tablet with big specs. It has a nice screen and battery life is great. Android 12 is preinstalled but when you connect to Wi-Fi, it will update to Android 13. This is a great tablet for doing all the basics and at a price that everyone can afford.

3.0 out of 5 stars Slow, not very funtional

This tablet is cheap and you get what you pay for, unfortunately. The tablet glitches a lot, is slow, and sometimes does not respond to touch or a stylus. Not worth it, just spend the extra money and get a real tablet from a good brand.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very very very slow

This is ok for browsing the web and checking email. From a power on until usable give it 10 minutes and remember to sign in because it doesn't actually load much until after you input your pin. This is running a Go Edition of Android. Never knew that their was a watered down Android lite edition. This thing will keep papers from flying off your desk. So if you're after a paper weight this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Cheap tablet

Don't expect to crack encryption or do any sort of complex task with this tablet. What it does do well is provide an inexpensive method to access your email, youtube, and use of kindle. Go beyond simple tasks and it will bog down significantly. Battery life is pretty long and the screen is clear. Resolution is very good as well. The camera is .... Meh - but who purchases a tablet for the outstanding camera? Reading pdf documents is simple enough for it to perform as well.

Overall - I got exactly what I wanted for less than $50 - A good cheap tablet not loaded with bloat ware that works good out of the box with no issues. I suggest you purchase the ProCase for this tablet - usually comes up as a combo purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome to pair with your Android phone

I have trouble sometimes viewing things on a my phone's small screen. This is a great way to view stuff on a larger screen, and because it has no cellular stuff and since there is room for a big battery, the battery life is better than a phone. I use it all day on wifi at home and I believe it connects through apps or by hotspot to your phone as well. Maybe not good enough to replace your work laptop but great for light tasks while traveling. So far my biggest complaint is that the camera is not anywhere as capable as the one on even a lower price phone, but I can live with that.
