5.0 out of 5 stars So much better than the stock Optimum Router!! Big difference!
Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2022
I have to say, the Eero router is excellent! Here’s the story: The stock Optimum router that was included with our service was absolutely useless and cheap! the wifi would cut out many times throughout the day for no reason, constant lag spikes during gaming, and speeds was not consistent at all, mind you we live in a small apartment. Multiple Optimum technicians came and changed the router 3 separate times, and I don’t know if it has to do with the model they keep giving us, or their just made really cheap, but all 3 routers had the same issues and it was really annoying since we work from home that we have to deal with constant sudden dropouts all day, all night. Optimum customer service didn’t do anything at all to help us, like usual… So we had to take matters into our own hands and decided to get this router on Amazon with seeing all the 5 star reviews, and to be honest we were very surprised at the performance of this little device. Setup was super easy thru the app, it was just plug and play with our Optimum Router and same username and password. No lag spikes, no cutouts, very smooth performance! If you have an Xbox series X or PS5 or a gaming PC, this router is great for gaming. Even though this was $90, this was totally worth every penny! Especially if you have Optimum and are having the same issues we had with our 3 stock routers, this will really

4.0 out of 5 stars Been using eero for a bit now

Been using it for about 2 years now, so far little to no issues. The app is easy to use, but some features are locked away behind subscription, which is not worth it. But overall, little to no issues on connection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eero 6 - Without Extender --- Perfect for Small Homes/Apartments
Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2021
This review is for the Eero 6, by itself, without the optional extender(s)

Number of Devices connected to the Eero 6:
1 PlayStation-4
2 Computers
2 FireTVs (4K, wireless streaming)
2 iPhones
3 iPads
35 Smart Devices (blink cameras, smart light bulbs, smart switches, smart speakers, and so on...)

My Internet Speed: 200 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload

Eero 6 Performance:
- At 30 feet away: Full Signal Strength on 5GHz channel, Internet Speed 230Mbps / 11 Mbps
- Around 35 to 40 fee away: Full Signal Strength, but channel switched automatically from 5Ghz to 2.4GHz, Internet Speed 60 Mpbs / 9 Mbps (normal for the 2.4GHz channel since it has much less bandwidth available)
- At 60 feet away: Signal is not very stable
NOTE: Speed tests where performed using an iPhone 12 Max (with WiFi 6) and an iPad Pro (with WiFi 5), not much of a difference in speed between the iPhone & iPad

In my opinion, the Eero 6 is a fairly mighty WiFi router given such a small package... well suited for a small house or apartment if you are able to place the router in a central location within your house/apartment that way you'll have full internet speed on the 5GHz channel as long as you are within 30 feet from the router and decent speed on the 2.4GHz channel if you are 40 to 55 feet away from the router.

Some reviewers on Amazon have stated they had issues with this router when using online meeting software (Microsoft Teams or Zoom), I've been testing my unit for two days now and no issues with Teams or any software for that matter... I currently work from home and I use the internet all day long between work, calls, and entertainment and no issues at all.... I've decided to keep the Eero 6 (I'm replacing a Netgear Nighthawk X6S with the Eero 6, the Nighthawk's specs are much more potent than the Eero's with much better signal strength, but Netgear neglects their products after a while and my Nighthawk is not able to update the firmware anymore opening it up to security issues)

One thing to keep in mind, if you are interested in connecting the optional wireless "Extender" to the Eero 6, the internet speed you'll get from the Extender Unit will be about half of what you'll get from the Eero Unit itself... that is the case for all mesh systems no matter which brand you choose...

One interesting option for this router is that you can connect two Eero-6 Routers (not extender) with each other via ethernet cable and both units will have full internet speed at both ends... perhaps a good option for some people...?

For my current internet requirement (working from home, multiple active streams, calls, entertainment), the Eero 6 router by itself connected to a 200 Mbps internet speed is more than enough and I'm very happy with the Eero 6's performance given it comes from such a small device.

I say give it a test if you are in the market for a WiFi router... all homes/apartments have different constructions so everyone will have slightly different outcomes, but it does not hurt to test it out since you can always return it if it doesn't work for you... Perhaps the Eero-6-Pro may be a better choice for some people, as most Amazon reviews state it offers more range than the Eero-6, but the Pro cost $100 more...

5.0 out of 5 stars Setup hit a snag, but tech support saved the day. And wifi range is AMAZING
Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2022
I first bought this back in November, and tried setting it up, but hit a snag. The Eero Android app has a really nice setup walkthrough process, but it kept telling me that the Eero couldn't connect. I didn't get around to looking into it again until today, when I ran into the same issue. But this time, I realized I could call Eero support.

I had to wait ~15 minutes on the phone, but then the technician I spoke to was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to look into what was going on on the backend of our account, and he could see what was going wrong, and remedy it from his end. (I'm fuzzy on the details here.) After his help, I was able to finish setting up Eero router correctly, and connect to the new wifi network.

And it turns out its range is AMAZING! The Eero router is in the front of our house, and I want internet to reach out into our back yard and to the cottage at the back of our yard. I figured I'd need to buy another Eero extender to get the internet out that far, but in my quick testing a few minutes ago, I was able to load a Youtube video with nearly no lag at all at the back of my yard. My housemate isn't home so I couldn't actually test *inside* their cottage. So it's possible I'll still need to buy one extender if the internet isn't strong enough inside the cottage, but even if that's the case, the Eero's range is still way better than our previous router's range. I'm really happy with this.

Needed this for a Sony television, the Wi-Fi on the inside of the TV not working well, I hardwire directly into eero. No more buffering.
