5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Home Scannner

I bought this to replace an old Canon scanner that developed a software glitch.
Once the easy software download was complete the Epson was good to go.
You just feed the item or items to be scanned into the slot and in about 2 seconds the item is scanned.
You’re then given an easy to use menu of options on your computer of what to do with your scan(s).
The unit has a very small footprint and is very lightweight and reasonably priced.
All told an excellent piece of equipment for basic home use. I just purchased it so I can’t speak to its durability.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does a great job for what it is.

Like others, I found a mountain of photos after my mother died. Many old family pictures that I couldn't just discard but took up a lot of room. I bought this to scan and save those photos to a smaller package. Works well for the purpose.

For color photos this unit is great. It's fast, easy to use, portable. Software has very basic controls for adjusting image quality.

One big caveat, it does NOT work on old, glossy, black and white photos. Hard to explain the effect but the image itself is only black and white with no grayscale so everything is washed out. Having to use an old, slow, flatbed scanner for these.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase. Pretty good value for what it offers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely wonderful

Not only does it scan documents. But it also scans photos. I was able to scan everything I needed. It's close to plug and play. You google the model and download the official sites app and from there just insert the paper. It should pull it in slightly to properly seat it. After that just press the button on the top side. It will scan and you can either save that, or scan something else and they will both save as one file. I don't think there's a limit to the ammt you can save at once. Pretty sure I scanned about 160 photos with no issues in one file. TLDR it's easy to use and very useful

4.0 out of 5 stars Efficient

Compact and easy to use. Works well and connects easily to my HP laptop with USB. The model I got was not independently powered or WiFi. Would recommend upgrading to that if you’re going to use this a lot. Otherwise for casual use this works. Text is clear and it does color pics as well.

Only complaint is the paper does not scan in completely straight there is a little black on one corner. Only reason it’s four stars instead of five.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality & light weight digitizer
Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2024
Produces really nice digitizations of my physical documents. It's especially good with long pieces of paper (like receipts) and big scans (I've made 200+ page pdfs with this), and the companion software lets you crop and rearrange the pages of your scan. Rarely has issues with feeding paper, but when it does it's because the paper has a big crease. Just hold the paper straight and it will be fine. File sizes are also RIDICULOUSLY SMALL. 20-50 kilobytes per page, absolutely amazing. My old scans that used my phone's camera were about 10x-100x larger in file size.

Only downsides are that it's very bad at scanning faint marks or pencil marks. changing contrast settings in the software does absolutely nothing. You might need to manually annotate the PDFs/PNGs afterward if you want to keep the information readable. Doesn't work with any book-style documents, obviously. No-go for things like passports. It's not too bad with glossy documents like ID cards, the color is a bit too saturated for my taste, but it's readable enough. Again, the software settings do nothing to change the scans.

1.0 out of 5 stars A real piece of junk, wasted my money
Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2024
This thing is a real piece of junk. Where should I start. The software is super obnoxious, with "helpful" pop-up windows every time you plug it in or out. ("Scanner is connected" -- no, really?) And the window doesn't go away unless you explicitly close it. The motors are not strong enough to evenly pull a piece of paper through, so your scan is going to come out crooked most of the time. I'm, like, trying to help it out by gently pulling the paper through as it scans, but it's so easy to mess that up. The scanned image adds a bunch of diagonal lines, i guess this some kind of optical noise. I had a fujitsu scan snap s1100 from 2011 that was showing its age, so I figured I would get a new scanner, but that s1100 was a much more reliable scanner and had none of these issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life Saver for filing my tax return
Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2024
I initially bought this to scan documents for my tax preparer. Fast and easy to use. Just like the kind you see the front office of medical offices using. I saw a comment that Chrome users were having problems using it. Software was easy to download and all I had to do with insert the paper and software automatically opens. I had some documents that were 15 pgs long, easy to scan the complete doc and then click Next to save it to a folder.
I've decided to start scanning more docs and reduce the paperwork clutter on my desk. I am compulsive about printing out recipes and articles that I want to read later. So hopefully this little scanner will help tackle the paper monster that I live with. I've been an Epson printer user for almost 30 years and their products are workhorses and easy to use.
