5.0 out of 5 stars Very simple to help review boxes and boxes of 35 mm slides

I inherited a few thousand 35 mm slides. I need to go through them to see which ones I want to digitally scan. This product is most economical answer I could find and super simple to use. The screen is bigger than I thought, but still on the small side. Some slides I'm reviewing will have to be scanned and enlarged because I couldn't see the details, but that's ok because I'm kind of on a family picture treasure hunt. It came with a USB plug in or you can use your own batteries so it is convenient to power up. The light is bright enough although sometimes I wish it was a tad brighter. Not a big issue, more of a personal preference. You simply drop the slide in the slot in the top and look at it in the viewer. You then push the button on the side to drop it to the lower tray when done. Super easy. Very low tech and easy. A couple of slides git hung up, but barely jiggling it allowed them to drop through. This is a slide viewer and does not seam like it would be good for trying to look at slides and take pictures with a phone to blow them up. Use a product designed for scanning for that kind of project. This is like a big single view window Viewmaster and worth the price for a project like mine where I am trying to go through slides to see which ones I want to scan.

Easy to use. Popping the slides out into the tray doesn't always work, but you can hold the slide in the slot by hand and pull it out when finished instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Handy Little Slide Viewer

I recently sorted old slides from my parents' estate. Not having a carousel slide projector, and not wanting to spend $100s on purchasing one, I took a shot and purchased this little slide viewer. It takes some time to load each slide manually to view and they do get stuck from time to time, but for what I expected it do, it met expectations and allowed me to view all of my slides economically. The brightness was absolutely sufficient as was the picture quality. Liked the fact that it works with USB or batteries. Worked very well for what I needed.

Overall I like the device. I'm going through 35mm slides from back in the early 60's. Most are just fine but I think due to the age of some of them they are too thick from moisture OR they aren't perfectly square. When that happens and they get stuck, and it is difficult sometime to get them out. So far i've gotten all of them out with no damage to ghem. I've not tried 35mm film so I can't speak to that.

Overall, I would still recommend this unit, just be patient with it. The picture quality is quite good given the limited size and limited magnification. A big improvement would be a way to increase or decrease the magnification.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small screen. Not a bad thing

Back when I was little. My grandmother had one similar to this battery powered. No there were no USB. ports back in the 1950s. She would show me pictures on it. What fun it was.
I purchased this one as my Bride brought home some slides from her father's estate. Not very many mind you just enough that a slide projector would be overkill. This little viewer fit the ticket quite nicely.
The only drawback I have found is the slides can hang up a bit while exiting the view port.
Not a big deal really. I must admit that it was in our laps not on a table while this occurred.

A very good portable slide viewer to look at generations of old Family Kodak slides. The price range is good.
