5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and handy

Distances seem very, very accurate. Small size makes it easy to put in pocket. I also bought a mount so the G30 can be secured to golf cart. With just a little "training", it is easy to operate and download courses.

4.0 out of 5 stars Big improvement over a G10 --Finds course fast and battery life is great
Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2018
Upgraded from a G10 and boy is this an improvement. Takes a short time to find satellite and then your course is right there. Much, much faster than the G10 and the battery lasts much longer, which seem strange, since this is in colour.
Intuitive interface makes it much easier to use than the G10's buttons. Another plus, is that you can touch the hole number in the upper left and it brings up a screen so that you can quickly change to another hole if it is off or you just want to see another one. The g10 forced you to scroll hole to hole until you got the right number.
I really like being able to touch a spot on the course and get distances -don't need to pull out my laser rangefinder anymore except on the range.
The only negatives I can report is that because of its small size it might take a couple tries to touch the spot you want unless you have pencil fingers, and once you have checked a potential distance is shows the total from your location to that spot and from that spot to the whole, so you need to back out if you want the straight line distance to the hole. This also happens if you accidently touch the screen and that is hard to see sometimes because of its small size. I found this out when I was wonder why it was showed yardage much longer the tee marker. Accidental touches also get you on to other screens, but the back error works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Garmin GPS for Golf
Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2024
This is my 3rd Garmin GPS over the years. I like how you can move the flag from the default center to the real position of the flag. Easily can be 8-10 yards difference defending on location of the flag.

Like - Battery life and ability to move flag on the green.

4.0 out of 5 stars Replaced my G6
Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2024
My old G6 power button broke so I was in need for an updated unit. This was not an upgrade but a downgrade in term of features. The main one for me was the ability to save shots after they are measured. Other than that, it functions similarly as my good old G6 (I loved that GPS). The new navigation is a little clunky and the unit is smaller but I got it on sale so I couldn’t pass up. Also, I needed to stay with Garmin because I have data going back to years of playing.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Garmin Approach G30 is great!
Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2024
The Garmin Approach G30 is very accurate. I bought it for my wife and I checked it against my laser rangefinder. The unit is small and fits in the cup holder on the golf cart.
