    **Update**
While I still like this product in theory, there is a big problem. With time, this product begins to fail. My pouch has no obvious damage to it, but the car door opens automatically when the fob is still in the protective metal area of the pouch. One time I even had it in my pocket within the pouch, and was able to start the car! Needless to say that was a little concerning and I thought maybe it was a fluke. But there are other members of the family that also have this pouch. Theirs also have failed with time. I still think it's a good product but with a caveat. You will have to test it frequently. As an added safeguard, instead of hanging up our keys in the pouch, we put the keys in the pouch iand into a metal box. At least this way there is a certain degree of protection. I would say it's a good product BUT it must tested frequently and be prepared to replace it. But definitely it does work for a while. At the moment, I'm not too worried about someone taking the car. The worry is that someone will try to steal the catalytic converter. That seems to be happening in our area at the moment.

Wow, I had no idea how easy it is for a tag team of thieves to steal a car! I saw a newscast that was reporting on "relay attacks" on vehicles. All you have to do is Google it. Apparently cars that have a start button instead of a key. The fobs constantly send a signal, or a ping in search of their matched vehicle. Auto thieves can scan the signal with their own electronic device, and just walk into your car and drive off. No key needed, just a digital signal!

I ordered a pack of two Faraday pouches. The pouch works perfectly. I tested it to make sure that it worked. First, I walked up to the car. Normally the car will unlock if you are within a few feet of it. The car did not detect the fob while it was tucked away in the pouch. Next, I unlocked the car and sat in the driver's seat. I placed the fob back into the pouch. I hit the on button to start the car. Again, the car could not detect the fob and wouldn't start until I took it out of the pouch.

I am very happy with the pouch. If you buy this product, please be aware that the pouch comes with two pockets. It is very important to note, you have to use the back pocket that is lined with a gold colored fabric. That fabric is what protects the signal from leaving the pouch. The first pocket is for small things like coins. It doesn't block signals. Only the back pocket does. The only thing I could be concerned about with this product is that it closes with velcro. At some point the velcro will wear out from overuse. Maybe use a binder clip to keep it closed if that happens.

For the life of me I still do not understand why automakers came up with this idea of a keyless ignition. I guess I'm old school. I prefer keys over fobs. I guess times change & this appears to be the latest fad. Until auto makers use some common sense to either go back to a real key, or include an on-off switch on the fobs, this is a great product that can help deter an expensive theft. I totally recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful! Safety from theft
Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2023
I had my Kia stolen last January; it was parked and locked in front of my house. Now, I’m much more safety conscious about various types and the increasingly sophisticated amount of theft; I’ve done a lot a reading, looked over numerous products designed to keep my credit cards, electronic keys, cell phone and other products such as iPads, invulnerable to attack. I carry three credit cards, and keep them in my purse, inside the color-coded faraday card holders. I have the holder for my electronic car opener as well, and have used it when I’m out with my car parked. I am very pleased to have these.(I also have a steering wheel lock, and a boot, for my car, and park it inside a locked gate.

It’s reasonable to put computers in Faraday bags as well, if sensitive information is stored on them, or, also during lightning storms. I can’t afford that, at present, but put my iPad in my Microwave, which is a built-in Faraday box, when a thunderstorm is forecast. I know that probably most people think, “what’s the chance?” And don’t have these products.

Well, my property has already been hit by lightning once, and it turned off the solar panel circuit breakers, and set off my car alarm. My parent’s house was struck by lightning once, and it destroyed everything electric in their house! A friend of mine was standing outside the bath house at Scout Camp one summer, during a rain storm. I wasn’t far away. Lightning struck the tree under which she was standing, and she was briefly unconscious. I could mention a few more alarming events, but in short, my personal experience is such that for myself, I’ve decided it is better to be prepared. I’m pleased to find these products on the market, reasonably priced. I gave some of the credit card holders to my sister, and she was happy to have them. For those who think these products are overkill, perhaps they are, or, perhaps they will be buying them after experiencing some of the adverse events we are all vulnerable to without them, at a later date.

There are ways to make your own “Faraday boxes” but it takes time, materials, and it’s easier and inexpensive to just buy some of these products, which are designed to hold up to repeated use, and have been tested, as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars One Bag Failed, But Replacement Already on the Way After Reaching Out to the Company.

I just realized that the bag I use for my car doesn't work. I usually take my key out before I get to my car but the other day I forgot and left it in my pocket. My car unlocked as I approached and I was able to get in and drive to my house. When I got home my car locked as I left it in the garage. I got home emptied my pockets and realized I had my keys in the gold pouch of the Faraday Bag. I check both bags and one works great and the other did not at all. I contacted the company and they are sending a replacement. So Check your bag to make sure if they work, otherwise they work great.

I had an issue with one of the Faraday Bag I use for my car keys. Normally, I take my keys out of the bag before getting to my car, but the other day, I forgot and left them in my pocket. As I approached my car, it unlocked automatically, and I was able to drive home without any problems. It wasn't until I got home and emptied my pockets that I realized my keys had been in the gold pouch of the Faraday Bag the whole time. I tested both bags I own and found that while one works perfectly, the other didn't block the signal at all. I reached out to the company, and they're sending a replacement. Just a heads up—make sure to test your bag to ensure it's working as expected. Other than this hiccup, I've found these bags to be really effective and a quick response from the company was outstanding. Can't beat them for the price and good customer service.
