I really don't know how I survived so long without this thing. This is infinitely more convenient than wired CarPlay. It’s reliable, pretty fast and I appreciate not having to take my phone out of my pocket on short drives.
Did everything as advertised, and had no issues (After understanding more how it worked)! It (and any similar device) will take a couple of seconds to fully connect once you get in the car, and there will be some lag. But it generally connects for me in just about the time it takes to get my seatbelt on.
Your phone needs to be connected to the device through Bluetooth AND the Wi-Fi signal it puts out. That is where I got confused cause I would disconnect from the Wi-Fi then wonder why it’s not working.
The device worked great though! I personally did not experience a bad audio delay on phone calls! No issues with accidentally cutting people off on calls or anything related to a delay! If I skip a song, it takes about 0.5 seconds.
On rare occasion, it won’t connect, but it’s super easy - I just pull the usb cord out for about a second and plug it back in. Like I said, rare that it happens but such an easy fix. If there’s a lag with the screen, it’s not long enough for me to notice it. This feels just as fast, once you get through the few seconds of start up delay, as it did to be wired. Honestly, it takes so much less time since you don’t have to plug in, it’s worth the quick delay.
If you are considering buying this, do it! The very minor quirks of such a device pale in comparison to the inconvenience of not having it at all.I highly recommend this!

Maybe 1 out of 20 times it connects as it should without issues, and works as it should. Issues vary so I’ll make a short list:
1) constantly needs to be unplugged and plugged back in to connect and work properly.
2) randomly freezes on the device loading screen, with or without audio playing in the background. Requires resetting by un plugging and plugging back in.
3) songs on pandora get caught in a 7 second auto loop playing the same 7 seconds over and over requiring unplugging and plugging back in.
3) call audio is laggy like every other unit on the market.
4) apps will freeze while in Apple car play menu, ie spotify and pandora. Required unplugging and plugging back in.
I could go on but these are some of the major issues. However, the worst issue among the many is this….
It will destroy your cell data rates. I’ve attached two pictures of speed test, holding my phone in the exact same spot while parked, ran on the same server on speed test. One is while connected to the wireless adapter, one is disconnected from it. I found it odd that all of a sudden after never having any issues with data buffering that I was always running into buffering issues while connected to the adapter.
I updated the firmware on the adapter and it did nothing to improve the situation. In fact it seems to be worse now after the firmware flash. I’ve removed the adapter completely and tried re-pairing multiple times.. I ran a control test on wired CarPlay and speeds are normal. The 5g in my area is very good, and I’m on the highest military tier data plan that doesn’t get deprioritized or throttled in any way.
Whatever this adapter is doing when it controls your WiFi on your phone absolutely decimates your data rates.
This is the worst product I’ve ever bought on Amazon. Not sure how it received so many positive reviews.
2024 ford maverick on iPhone 13 Pro Max with current iOS update will not work with this adapter. Your mileage may vary, but this was terrible for me.
