The unit is smaller in size than I’d prefer but the price was just outstanding. We get all the info we need to catch fish and while bells and whistles and multiple scan techs are awesome, they just aren’t needed. I can see fish, structure, depths, temps and the image is viewable in bright sunlight or moonless nights chasing flatheads.

I have a small boat and like to have a depth/fish finder. It's pretty typical for installation, but these things have gotten so much more sophisticated. You'll want to read the manual or at least watch a youtube video to get the most out of your product.

The most annoying aspect of this device is the number of fish that it was showing and the lack of fish I actually boated.

I bought this unit for icefishing. It arrived today with 2 transducers, one for icefishing and another for boat application. The icefishing transducer will not power the unit up, while the boat transducer works just fine. It bothers me that a company as well-known as Lowrance would let this out of the factory without testing.
I am going to find out how good their customer service is. I'm asking for a replacement transducer to save returning it and taking a chance of something worse.

UPDATE:
Amazon is sending a replacement unit, another week of waiting, and it will miss the fishing trip I purchased it for! NO overnight replacement shipping due to a faulty product I guess. It gets a "4".

Worked well and easy to work. Not sure about the accuracy. I was in 3 feet of water and it said I was in 11 feet. I call Lowrance and a tech told me several things to try. The bottom was very muddy so maybe it wasn't hitting a hard surface. It worked perfect at different locations.

After a few years of using a Garmin Striker 4 with some success, with a kayak upgrade last year I thought I'd also make a slight upgrade in electronics to Lowrance. This brand was said to be optimized for the Hobie Compass I'd bought as well. I've used it several times now as well as having watched dozens of instructional videos. Here are my issues. 1) The water depth is not very accurate and does not update very quickly (slow processing). 2) Contours of the bodies of water I fish are not easy to read on this unit, if reflected accurately. Of course, when you're fishing, you want to know where dropoffs and holes are. 3) Water temperature is not measured or indicated that I can find. 4) Few settings are available. 5) I've never been able to detect a single fish, much less a school of them, via this device, although I've caught many when they've not been indicated. 6) Useful information on how to gain better use of this or understanding of it (assuming its working properly) is difficult to find. I feel I've been sold a worthless device and regret not having something like what I was looking and paying for.
