5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good sound and power!

-----------This is an updated review.---------------
I recently installed one of these stereos in my center console boat.
This time I coupled it with a pair of 150w Pyle 6-1/2" speakers up front and a pair of 300w Kenwood 8" speakers in the back. All I can say is WOW!!! With these speakers, this stereo is amazing! Deep, bowel-shaking bass, clean midrange and crisp highs. I attribute much of the sound quality to the Kenwood speakers, but it's only because the head unit delivers the power. This setup rivals the 1000w stereo in my big boat as far as sound goes. I am truly amazed.
------------end new review--------------------

Installed this in a 21' deck boat I was planning to sell. Saw the 300W rating, and figured it was exaggerated, especially when I saw the unit. It looked thin and cheap, as the $39 price tag suggested. But I installed it anyway, tied in to (4) 150W Dual 6-1/2" coax speakers.

Install was the standard DIN cage - fit in the existing hole easily. Took 10 mins. This WILL fit in a car, by the way. In fact, because it isn't too deep, it will probably fit where some others won't.

When I turned on the radio and tuned in a station, I was surprised. Clear, crisp, and solid bass... Then I turned it up, and it got louder and louder. This thing really thumped! I was amazed, and cranked it up to see how loud it would go, and it got louder than I can handle. Made my wife come out of the house to see what was going on. Plenty of sound for when you are on the water with wind and engine noise. NICE!

Turned on the bluetooth of my phone, linked them together, and BOOM, now I had my music playing.

I have to say, I can't comment on it's longevity, but It worked great for the days I had it before the boat sold. New owner LOVED the stereo, had it playing for the whole test ride. I'm sure that helped sell the boat. Well worth the investment!

Replaced an old unit in my pontoon with this. Easy to wire up and works perfect. I like the remote too. Great sound and plenty of power for fun on the lake. Easy to operate.

4.0 out of 5 stars It’s Installed and Operational

Came quickly. Easy installation. Wish wiring was a little bigger because making connections to different sizes of wire makes it more challenging. We had to crimped connections that needed redoing. FYI for anyone doing self installation. Seems both power wires need to be hooked up to operate. Took a little thinking ???? to figure that out. Sound and power were good enough for us at this price point. There is one thing that’s been annoying. Turning this unit on isn’t so straightforward. Im having to click the power button multiple times before the unit turns on. Should not be this way. So I reduce my stars to 4. Once on it works just fine.

My hubs installed on our 1990s Sea Ray. The sounds is good and it was fairly easy to install. I was surprised at how much sound it put out. I do agree with other reviewers in that the display could be brighter. Hard to see if it’s a sunny day. Works for what we needed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't turn on and just beyond return window

Installed it in the boat, used it twice and now it won't turn on. Just a dead unit. Reset button didnt help. Wires are all good with 12v on red and yellow, disconnected battery and still no go. Fuse is good. It's just a paperweight at this point. I grabbed another unit from another boat I have and plugged it in and everything worked.

Update. The manufacturer has informed me that it will not be covered under warrenty because Amazon listed it as "used-like new" due to having the box opened... even though it had never been touched by human hands and was still in the closed bag. Do not recommend. Sound was trash, anyway. No more pyles of this for me.

At first I thought I had a bum unit as some have complained about but the on/off button is just finicky. I found out 2 quick presses will turn the unit on and a quick press turns it off. I only have 2 speakers on my boat and I am really impressed how nice this cheap radio sounds. I'm not one to DJ the entire lake but just chilling on the boat and having some tunes, it is perfect.

Put this one in my boat. Easy installation and sounds fairly good ....acceptable anyway......especially considering the cost. Only issue I've experienced is the remote doesn't work....new battery same status but not a biggie for me. Overall I'm quite pleased. I have two Pyle amplifiers and if this radio performs as long as the amps have....I'll be very happy. My experience with Pyle thus far has been excellent.
