5.0 out of 5 stars Work really well and small enough to carry
Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2024
This help when I have a meeting outside and help recap of what I wrote down. The function is simple and the app is easy to use. However if you record in English and have it transcribeb in other languages (like Thai), it is not accurately translated yet. So I just use English for now. I hope the AI translation will get better in the future. It give you 300 mins every month with the purchase which is good value. If you need more recording you have an option to buy the cloud space. The sound is clear. It is small enough to carry around without being too obvious and look sturdy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excited to Put This Tool to Work - Already Loving the Potential!
Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2024
I recently purchased the CLAUD Note Voice Recorder and Transcription tool, and I was so impressed with its potential that I immediately upgraded to the Pro Version for $79. As a professional copywriter focusing on small businesses and real estate professionals, I bought this tool with a clear plan to enhance my workflow and deliver more personalized, effective copy for my clients.

    Client Interviews and Consultations:
I’m planning to use the CLAUD recorder during client consultations to capture every detail of our conversations. This will allow me to focus entirely on listening to my clients without worrying about taking notes. I’m confident that the transcriptions will help me review all the details later, ensuring that I don’t miss any crucial information when crafting marketing materials or property descriptions.

    Brainstorming and Ideation:
I often find that my best ideas come when I’m talking them through, so I’m excited to start using the CLAUD recorder to capture these moments. My plan is to review the transcriptions afterward, organizing my thoughts into actionable strategies. I believe this will help me maintain a creative flow and ensure that no idea gets lost along the way.

    Content Creation and Editing:
I’m looking forward to dictating more of my copy using the CLAUD recorder. Whether it’s outlining a blog post or drafting a property listing, I anticipate that speaking my thoughts will speed up the process. The transcriptions will serve as a rough draft, making it easier to refine and polish my work. I also plan to use this tool during the editing process, recording my thoughts to get a fresh perspective on revisions.

    Property Tours and Descriptions:
When I visit properties, I plan to take my CLAUD recorder along to capture my immediate impressions in real-time. I’m eager to see how the transcriptions will help me create more vivid and accurate property listings, and I’m sure this will be a valuable resource for brochures, social media, and virtual tours.

    Client Follow-Ups and Proposals:
After client meetings, my intention is to record my thoughts on next steps and use the transcriptions to draft detailed follow-up emails or proposals. I’m looking forward to how this will streamline my follow-up process, making it more efficient and thorough.

    Training and Development:
I’m committed to ongoing professional development, and I plan to use the CLAUD recorder to capture training sessions and webinars. I’m confident that the transcriptions will serve as a valuable reference, helping me to continuously improve my skills. I also plan to record myself practicing sales pitches, with the goal of refining my delivery through careful review of the transcriptions.

    Content Repurposing:
I see a lot of potential in using this tool for content repurposing. I plan to record brainstorming sessions and use the transcriptions to generate consistent content across blogs, social media, and newsletters. I’m also excited about how easy it will be to capture and repurpose client testimonials for marketing materials and case studies.

    Conclusion:
Although I’m just getting started with the CLAUD Note Voice Recorder and Transcription tool, I’m already thrilled about the potential it holds for improving my workflow and the quality of my work. If you’re a copywriter looking to boost your productivity and deliver more personalized content, I highly recommend considering this tool—it’s already proving to be a wise investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scary good
Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2024
The transcription on this device is so good that it’s frightening in some ways. I use it to meet with students over the phone now. I just tell them that I’m recording the call and they don’t mind. The transcription, even though it works by vibration, is still Almost perfect. I think the scariest part overall is that I’m really not certain where my data lives. I don’t know if this is a downside or whatever but the language they use about starter plan and quota could be very confusing. There is also not really a guarantee about if they’ll continue the “starter plan“ for any period of time. Like, they can just stop doing it one day and force the purchasers of this to pay a monthly fee if they want to continue to have transcription. That is a little scary. Also, the term quota doesn’t quite make sense to me in the context in which they use it. I do like the idea, though that I can buy 6000 minutes for $80 and use them whenever my starter plan minutes run out for two years. So as it stands now, I feel like it’s a great value. The transcriptions and summaries are amazing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, but you may want to confirm the level of usage you anticipate
Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2025
    Quick Read:

I purchased PLAUD's AI Voice Recorder a few months ago, and the output has been satisfactory. I recommend the product, but I also recommend anticipating how much you plan to use the product prior to purchasing given the initial cost and monthly subscription fees.

    Elaborated Review:

    Context:

I am a corporate strategy analyst, regularly conducting competitive intelligence analyses. A portion of my work is to listen to our competitors' quarterly earnings calls. These are roughly one hour long and include prepared commentary by the executive leadership team (what's included in their letter to shareholders PDF press release), commentary that expands beyond the prepared commentary, and a question-and-answer session with attending investment analysts.

Typically, transcripts of these calls are released by various companies, but they are only available 3-4 hours after the earnings call has concluded. I wanted to see if any devices could accurately transcribe these calls so I could review a transcript immediately afterward. After searching for a product that adequately suits my use case, I found PLAUD's device.

I started reading about the product details and was initially impressed, so I purchased PLAUD's AI-enabled voice recorder. Here's what I learned after using the product:

    Pros:

    - The device holds an impressively long battery life
    - The design is sleek, modern, and pretty much goes unnoticed when mounted to the back of my phone
    - The output of both phone calls and lecture-like recordings/transcriptions exceeded expectations
    - The material of the device seems to be very durable, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend "testing" it
    - The software features are impressive, including templated analyses of each recording, an AI adaptive analysis of each recording, and mind maps for thought tracking

    Cons:

    - To gain complete and frictionless usability from the product, I had to sign up for a monthly PRO subscription to avoid perceived limitations with recording memory and gain access to advanced features
    - If you use this device in the workplace to help distill action items from meetings, check your organization's policies for recording meetings. This can hinder your perceived usage and may not justify the purchase of this device
    - The AI model may require some testing and training. This might not be for you if this is outside your initial expectations for the product and you expect immediate results from its robust features
    - The magnet that adheres to your phone and mounts the device is permanent. It's not a huge problem, but be cautious of where you apply the magnet because you'll need to purchase another one if it's mounted directly to your phone and you get a new phone, and the same with a phone case

    Recommendation:

After using this product for a few months, I am delighted with its results, usability, and durability. I recommend this product to someone potentially in a classroom setting who seeks to revisit portions of a lecture later on. The AI-enabled output is impressive, but expect to take some time to work with the AI model to derive optimal output.

Overall, this product is priced on the higher end, and if you are looking for the output as advertised, you'll likely need to purchase one of the tiered subscriptions. I do recommend this product, but I also recommend carefully anticipating how much you intend to use it before justifying the purchase.
