5.0 out of 5 stars Works as expected, a few things to note...

Already owning both Airtags and Smart tags, I couldn't wait to try out the new Moto Tag.
Only 1 didn't pair right away, and I tried it again which paired perfectly.
For new users of Any tag, please be patient, especially if you live in a semi rural area.
While these tags ping off other phones, not all phones are new enough (ultra wide band) and not all older phones have the find my feature enabled and running.
First thoughts is that it is nearly identical to the air tags disc shape, only slightly smaller, and android compatible of course.
I attached all three mentioned brands to my wife's key chain as a test and she took them shopping with her and the results were very accurate and fast.
Of course my intent on buying these is not to track anyone, as I could do that better with life360.
My main reason is to keep track of my wallet, keys, even pet, and most any valuables such as side by side, 4 wheelers and anything valuable.
Just tape the tag with super sticky black tape to anywhere such as the under side of the dash, and you will never lose track of your items again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't track "anything, anywhere"
Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2024
Having used Airtags I was thinking these would work the same to track my kid's location. I put 2 on a backpack and a necklace. Upon leaving them at school, i was unable to find them via android's find my device at home. Having talked with motorola i decided to test the other 2 but pairing and leaving them right by my wife's android 14 phone (thinkphone) and go for a bike ride. A mile down the road and they would not pick up the location of either of the other 2. This is against the product description in that it would use any android phone to find the tags. I realize this product is new but if's not going to do the description at all then it doesn't work and is false information. I wanted this to work and maybe IF google updates their UWB it will but as it stands they are only good for locating your keys in your house if you leave them within your nearby vicinity. Total fail so far on my beta testing of Moto's device. I'll give them a few days if they don't magically work I need a refund/return of my money.

UPDATE: I'm tracking them as a test as I returned them. They somehow someway are now working it seems. Will continue to update as they go back to Amazon. I did factory reset them all twice then attached them. Maybe I sent them back too soon. We'll see.

UPDATE 2:
So it did track all 4 of them from Tampa to a distribution center in Jacksonville. There it lost them I guess maybe they were reset. Better result and maybe they work but I'd still hold off until Android updates uwb and a discount appears on them before I'd give them another shot.

1.0 out of 5 stars Will not Pair
Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2024
I have Pixel 7a and it won't even pair. "Couldn't pair with moto finder because of an incorrect PIN or passkey." I tried 2 tags, reset them, reset my bluetooth settings. Never had problems connecting anything.

update - tried my wife's S23, connected no problem so I don't know what the issue is.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed
Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2024
I am not impressed by the moto tags tracking capabilities. The map shows an area it could be located in that's so large it's laughable. We were in a busy area and originally when I tested it out it showed me an entire city block! When I zoomed in further it honed in a bit more and said it could be anywhere in the 36,000sqft building that we were in which isn't that helpful.

To get more accurate you can use the the find nearby tool which is a circle like icon. It doesn't change in size until you're literally on top of the tag so it's very little help actually trying to find it. There are no arrows or distance away provided so you don't even know if your getting closer or further away. It's only when you're a couple feet away that it finally says your close which isn't very helpful when the map shows it could be anywhere inside the 36,000sqft building. You'd be searching for a very long time without distance or arrows to help guide you.

Luckily this was just a test and my item wasn't actually lost, but due to this test I don't trust I'd be able to find my item easily if I'm relying on a moto tag

We are disappointed and hope they can update these to make them actually usable. Until then we will be switching to Apple.

Update: we received the tags 1 week ago and one of our tags is already saying the battery is low and needs to be replaced. These should last 1 year, not 1 week!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, so good so far...
Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2024
Been waiting for an Android version of the iTool tag. So far they seem to work great, just testing them around the house and giving one to my spouse to test while doing a run to the store. I was able to see in a rough area where the Moto Tag was easily via the Moto Tag App. Didn't know that there was an option to tell you phone to make the Tag beep and voice versa you can "click" the Moto logo and you phone will make noise. I'm using a Moto Razor+ and seems to integrate well with the built in find my device in Android. So far I am only using one in my wallet (coupled with a silicone wallet insert). Time will tell and can't wait to put these in luggage while traveling. Happy to finally see a tracker specifically built for android!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great on the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold - with one minor issue only
Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2024
Works great, easy to setup. The best function is the button that finds your phone with a loud beep. The only issue is when changing phones. I had a Pixel Fold set up with four moto tags, set up the Moto App which is very easy to navigate, except does not have a log in nor does it recognize the owner of the the tags. Then i purchased a New phone the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The moto tags transferred very easily to the new phone in the Android app FIND MY DEVICE. However the Moto Tag App did NOT transfer, did not show the tags. I had to reset the four tags and set them up as new tags on the new phone. Annoying but worked easily. The app needs a log in with Motorola in order to use the app on any Android phone or tablet.
