    I bought the key finder because I lose items like keys and remotes frequently, and I have to say that it has been a huge help. The locator tags have a range of 40 meters, and so far I have had no problem finding them inside the house, even when they are behind cushions or in separate rooms. The 85 decibel sound is plenty loud, making it easy to quickly locate the item, even with moderate background noise. The remote is very easy to use, with clearly marked buttons for each tag. It has also been great for finding my TV remote, which always seems to disappear in the most unexpected places. It has been useful and reliable, especially since it doesn't require an app or internet connection. Definitely a practical purchase if you are someone who is always looking for things around the house.

    This isn't the most fashionable, or high tech device finder, but it's paid for itself already. We have a tendency to lose the TV remotes thanks to a toddler wandering off with them, these will work easily within a 30-40ft radius to find and ping them.

    The noise is decently loud, if it was sealed in a plastic bag underneath the couch cuishons you might need it to be real quiet..... But that's not a likely scenario.

    These are pretty large, and you'll need to assemble them dang near when you get it (batteries aren't already inside them) but some double sided foam tape or a split ring to find your keys will work great.

    I’m a raging alcoholic and pothead and I lose stuff all the time. I was drunk one night and I bought this so I can find my Xbox controller in the morning. This is an elegant solution and works well. Package comes with everything you need except getting the batteries open is a pain in the nuts. It’s like breaking into a liquor store at 3AM downtown. Also comes with a weird plastic and foam thing that I haven’t figured out the purpose for. They were probably just laying around at the factory and they chucked them into the package as a bonus item. Good for fidgeting while you’re detoxing. I’m glad I can find stuff now. I’ll probably buy like 10 more kits so that I’ll never lose anything again. Need one to put on my cat. Recommend.

    04/24/2024: I'm adding a brief update. Not a complaint -- just something to keep in mind. I purchased one set for myself and another set for someone who lives in my apartment building. (She's getting up there in years, and she misplaces her keys a few times a week.) When I purchased this product, I assumed that each set of alarms had unique frequencies, sort of like garage door openers or find-your-car-in-a-parking-lot beepers. No such luck. When she needs to find her keys, my devices start chirping at the same time as hers. It's not a big deal, but if I had do do it again, I probably would have bought one set from Midlocater and another set from a different vendor. End of update.

    Don't be surprised if you have a hard time installing the batteries and getting the covers to close properly. For me, the installation was easy on two of the units but took several minutes for the other two. In hindsight, I'd say you need to make sure the battery is pushed down and in as far as possible and be certain that the tabs on the cover line up exactly with the slots on the housing. You'll eventually get it, and you'll probably have an easier time than I did.

    I bought this product with the idea of adding one unit to each of two keychains and possibly one more on my cellphone. Since the unit can easily be clipped onto a keychain (with or without the metal ring), that's no problem. The adhesive patches stick very effectively to the key finder surface, but they do not stick to my iPhone protective sleeve. (I didn't try sticking it to the iPhone itself, because that would make it impossible to put the sleeve back on.)

    I look forward to reading the other reviews to see how everyone else is using these. For me, one or two key finders probably would have been sufficient since I don't have a lot of items that are small enough to get misplaced. For now, I'll probably pop the batteries out of the two unused key finders and keep them as my backup system.
