5.0 out of 5 stars Great tripod for the price but needs a couple modifications.

I "assumed" the little black piece to turn the cable would FLOAT since it was made for ice fishing. NOPE! First time out the piece fell in the hole and dropped to the bottom of the lake like a brick! I called Aqua View and after we had a good laugh she said she would send me a new one n/c. Lesson learned! It is a great tripod and I love having control of my camera. My camera has a smaller cord so I did have to put a rubber band around the stopper to tighten it around the small cord. I love that Aqua View stood behind their product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good device

We ordered this because we were borrowing a friend's tripod and we dropped the top into the hole and couldn't recover it. We like the item, but be aware that the top is not attached and may fall in. Now that we know this, it won't be a problem. but it should be improved so this couldn't happen in the first place.

5.0 out of 5 stars camera does not move
Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2021
who would have thought an under water camera would move, but they do, purchased two of these, one for my son in law and me, we put on opposite sides of out Eskimo, we can see fish coming and going cameras are stable, they do not move, before we had to go out about every half hour to stabilize.

3.0 out of 5 stars Work okay but missing tether
Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2022
Works okay for stabilizing under water camera wire, but like others said, the rubber piece does not have a tether and sinks. Poor design in that regard as many get dropped down hole and lost forever. I just used some braided line to create a tether of my own and protect from loss.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheaply made

Made very cheap, for the price. Bobber stop isn't attached and sinks if you drop it in the water

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, and wire gripper helps with precise camera rotation

Good unit. The rubber clip system that holds the wire also makes it very easy to rotate the camera so it is pointed precisely where you want it.

4.0 out of 5 stars I received an apparently upgraded version.
Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2018
Mine came with cord and adjuster threaded through the legs. I'm not sure what it's for and I couldn't find any mention of it on Aqua-Vu's website.
Based on other reviews that I read about loosing the ball and the camera cable slot being too loose, I made some modifications. I drilled small hole in the back leg and threaded some braided tip up line through the hole and tried it to the ball. I also threaded a small clip on the line to be used as a stop for the camera cable.
I haven't tried this on the ice yet but it seems ok to hold my Eyoyo camera. I deduced one star because of the modifications that I felt was needed so that I wouldn't loose the ball.
