I'm writing this on my boat and actually catching fish as I type the review. This is seriously so much fun! This thing works like a lucky cricket! I've been out here fishing for months and I caught more today than all year. It works great for bait fish (shows small fish) and then medium sized indicator represents medium sized cats, large sand bass, large crappie. Big fish indicator is like 15lbs+. Don't use it in a pool to test it. TBH That's dumb. It's basically a clicker that measures time. Not distance or fish. Air bubbles screw with it so you have to be drift trolling or trolling real slow with an electric motor. Soon as I crank the motor up she gives false readings. That's because the air bubbles send a ping and the device measures the time incorrectly. If it's not working, I suggest playing with your sensitivity indicator. Something tells me this switches the frequency (like sound pitch of the internal clicker) the lower the sensitivity, the wider the angle (more area covered) the higher the sensitivity the greater accuracy, but less area covered. I'm on setting 4 of 5 in 14ft muddy water. And I'm lighting these fish up. Came super fast, and had a nice return date of 90 days, but honestly I'm never going back out without one.
