How does it work: Pebblebee Clip is an alternative to AirTag or Android AirTag.     Well, I have only used these a short time, so I don't know how these will hold up. One thing that makes me not so happy with the Samsung Smart Tags is that the battery life on the Samsung devices is atrocious. A new Samsung tag lasts barely a few weeks before it's screaming for a new battery. A replaced battery in a Samsung tag, well, in 3 to 4 months, it's needing replacement, including the new improved units. This is my reason I'm moving away; I hate taking these apart to put in a new battery 3 to 4 times a year. Hence, these rechargeable units have their endearing qualities. The Samsung devices are managed thru Smart Things, and are not very loud when it comes time to "find" a missing set of keys, or other attached item.
    These PebbleBee Clips - are VERY LOUD, and have a FLASHING light that makes it very easy to find. I don't mind attaching a USB cable to it to charge; far more preferable than buying new CR2032's and replacing them so often. These Pebblebees are managed thru Find Your Devices instead of Smart Things; so, a different approach. For what I want them for, like finding a misplaced set of keys- being LOUD and having a flashing light- makes it IDEAL for my purposes. Not sure on how well it tracks things. Haven't had them long enough for that. But for finding a misplaced set of keys, IDEAL .
    It seems that this is MORE of a review of the Samsung Tags, but it's how this device is BETTER in many respects. For me, these are better for how I use it most often.

    This thing sucks! Don't buy it. I suppose if you're not going to use the network and only Bluetooth around your house, then sure. I want it to track items if stollen. I tested it out with my friend and the app never even noticed he left with it. Oh, and the Find My Device Device app works, but the Pebblebee app doesn't. I bought this to use the Pebblebee app as it has much more features like alarms if your item is moved out of range. I contacted customer service and they kept telling me to reboot the system, which I did multiple times. Custom service just ignored me after I asked if they can help me as rebooting it wasn't working.

    I noticed that for this thing to work, people with Androids need to have their settings changed to let this clip share locations. I'm assuming most people don't have these, so there setting aren't opened to share locations, so this is probably why this item doesn't work everywhere.

    It doesn't really work, it's really not that accurate, and customer service sucks. I would say to wait until this thing picks up and more people have it. Also wait so they can fix their Pebblebee app and better train their customer service.

    Easy to connect right out of the box and works well after using for 1 week. The location is not as accurate compared to airtags but still provides great location and sound works very quickly. Overall good value and rechargeable ability will save batteries cost in the long run.

    As the first product on Google's Find my Device network there were bound to be some hiccups but overall the Pebblebee is off to a good start.

    The accuracy of the device is good and the chirp is loud enough to hear when it's a reasonable distance away. The flashing lights also help in the dark. It does have UWB (ultra wide band) support so it so it can tell you if you are getting closer to/further from the tracker in Google's Find Device app. As far as I can tell it's about as accurate as my AirTags are. I've had mine for a few months and haven't had to charge it yet.

    Now for the cons. I've had no issues with it connecting to my phone until I recently bought a new phone. I had a heck of a time getting it to work with my new Pixel 9 Pro...it could find the Pebblebee but could not Make the tracker ring when I was trying to find it. After resetting the tracker 5 or 6 times and updating the firmware it works great again and haven't had any issues since. It might be a good idea to reset it before you try connecting it to another phone.

    Overall it's been a great little tracker. I recommend it if you need a good tracker but I would update the firmware first before doing anything with it.

    We have a google phone and a galaxy phone, the app works perfect with it on both. I love the rechargability of the clip. The find me app doesn't have an exact meter, but it does display an "okay" for battery life. We got it as a "hidden tracker" for our now preschooler, so it being rechargeable is great. It is also our first "tile" like tracker. I did not expect it to be so small, but the size is perfect to sneak in where I wanted it to be. Pushing the button for connecting it alluded me for whatever reason, but my husband got it right away. Just one of those things, I guess, but it wasn't a broken thing since he got it right away. The volume is good, the light up is really neat if we needed it. We don't though, so it's not a useful thing. At least not yet. So far, it's been great!

    I was trying to find a device that worked on android. One that would work as simply, as the ones does on IOS. I do have to say that this one did an amazing job, it's simpler to find then having to go through smartthings as you do with the samsung. It's easy to use on the find My device screen just like you do with IOS.

    My daughter is currently away at college (overprotected. Father here), she has the air tag as well as this one. This is definitely more accurate as she will tell me where she's sitting at the university. The ios is just a little bit off. Not by much, but this one's more accurate.

    The cost is a little bit higher but I do like having two different versions just in case, definitely worth the purchase.
